Hi! My name is Sim Young. I like traveling when I have the time and money (which I've found a solution for) and my best trip so far has been to visit Egypt, Jordan, and Israel. I also love meeting fellow Christians. I hope you'll consider adding me as a friend on the Black Preaching Network and over time, I look forward to learning more about you, your ministry and/or the work you're doing for God's Kingdom. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to work together.
I happened to come across an interesting article published by the Washington Post on March 27, 2012, that I wanted to share with the Black Preaching Network family. It reported the findings of the fourth annual "State of the Plate" survey, citing that 51% of churches in 2011 saw an increase in giving, up from 43% in 2010, and 36% in 2009.
In the Washington Post article, church leaders attributed the reversal in fortunes to better attendance, which was reported by half of the churches surveyed. Many others also cited their efforts to address giving and generosity with the congregation.
If your church is looking to increase attendance or giving, I have some ideas I'd love to share with anyone looking to help their church or a specific ministry within your church.
