In a new era where money runs everything
Back in the 1960’s, boxing had a aura of purity
Emerging from the depths of Louisville, Kentucky
Cassius Clay chose to emerge as Muhammad Ali
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
Rumble young man, Rumble
Faced enormous odds as he fought in the heart of the concrete jungle
Without fear, he spoke his mind
Separating from the norm while being a man of the people
Refusing enlistment into Vietnam, he stood toe to toe with the powerful and deceitful
Took everything from him they could
Slandered his name as they snatched his livelihood
On his road to redemption, the dust settled and the path was clear
He stood tall, internationally
hands raised in victory, there in Zaire
My goal is to continually experiment, explore color possibilities, and to play with composition and line.
When I first began painting (10 yrs. old) I explored styles and techniques in order to achieve a specific result in mind. I became burned out at 21y.o. and stopped painting for 4 years.
When I returned to the canvas I was determined to challenge my preconceived ideas and teachings. Therefore I began to draw with my eyes closed while meditating (to clear my mind) and this particular style and figures were born from this experiment.
I no longer draw with my eyes closed. My approach is primarily about experimenting with color and composition and the subject matter is second.
“In Dreams” is sure to pull on heartstrings regardless of age, gender, or culture. The record describes reminiscent memories a young boy has of his late father. Surron narrates the tale of his younger self retracing steps and lessons he shared with his father, gone too soon.
The melodies from Two Feathers intertwined with Surron’s storytelling offers listeners a heightened sense of emotion. “In Dreams” is where loved ones who passed will remain. The captivating emcees provide an uncanny sound and vibe reflective of traditional Hip-Hip with a melodic spin. Stream “In Dreams” here, and watch the video below.
