Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Paul wants us to understand in this passage of scripture that when we continue in sin, we are denying our own identity in Christ. A believer should not live in sin because once we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior and have been baptized with water and the Holy Spirit, we have died to sin. When we trust Christ, we have been united to Him. This union enables us to become partakers of His death and resurrection. Our old man was crucified with Christ. We are now a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are no longer subject to that slave mentality. We have been set free. Now even though we as believers in Christ we have died to sin, sin is still a problem, it still is present around us. But it doesn't reign in our lives. We don't have to obey it.

When God has taken those dead bones from us, we have to stop making excuses to bring back that which God has delivered us from. God removed that hindrance from our lives so that we can grow closer to Him and no longer be enslaved or tangled up in that which He has delivered us from. We don't want to be like the children of Israel. God heard their cries to be set free from Pharaoh when they were enslaved in Egypt. He showed them mighty wonders on their journey. But once He delivered them out of their mess they fell back into that slave mentality(Exodus 32:1-8).

God has delivered us from our dead bones so that He could bring us into a land flowing with milk and honey. Why would we want these old dead bones back when we can feast on fresh manna from heaven. What does it profit at man to gain the world and lose his soul(Matthew 16:26)?
Anything dead ought to stay buried.Who Dat? - By: Minister Tracie Bradleytag:abcpreachers.ning.com,2010-01-14:916966:BlogPost:11797792010-01-14T04:32:18.000ZElder Tracie Wychehttps://abcpreachers.ning.com/profile/TracieAlannaHolloway
Do we as women know what our role is as a Godly woman (wife)? And are we treating our men as men? Most of us have read Proverbs 31:10-31, which speaks of a virtuous woman (wife). But how many of us are truly living up to what God expects of us.

Do we as women know what our role is as a Godly woman (wife)?
When the Bible speaks of a virtuous woman, it means a woman of excellence, moral worth, ability and nobility not just martial fidelity (loyalty; devotion to duty or obligation, reproduction, etc.). Proverbs 31:12 says, “She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.” This is extremely important if you want all that God has promised you. Yes, sometimes our mates drive us up the wall and we want to do something bad to them. But in doing that we are going against everything Proverbs 31:12 says. It is time for us to start taking God’s Word to heart and applying it to our live everyday. Do as Matthew 5:44 says, “Do good to them….”

Diving farther into Proverbs, chapter 14 verse 1 it says, “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” Building our house means developing a peaceful environment for our family. How many time have we been a foolish woman; raising more hell in the house then outside the house. A man goes to work day after day, week after week, year after year, dealing with all kinds of hell in the work place. The last place he needs hell is at home. Home is a place where our mates can escape from the stress and struggles of the day. Home is suppose to be a safe haven for our husbands. Instead home for our husbands is just like the outside, strenuous. This is not what God instructed us to do.

Proverbs 12:4 says, “An excellent wife is a crown to her husband, but she who causes shame to her husband is like rottenness in his bones.” What does excellent mean? It means noble. An excellent wife brings honor to her husband. The Bible says shame is like rottenness in his bones. When something is rotten, it is cancerous, decaying, terrible, bad, in a nut shell not good. Something that causes the bone to decay means it weakens the bone. Take for example the disease osteoporosis. This disease specifically attacks the bone. It wears the bone until it is weak and brittle. Once this happens any little injury can cause major devastation. How does this relate to Proverbs12:4? Very simply we can make our husbands weak. God created woman to be a help. If we are bringing shame to our husbands, we certainly are not helping.

Proverbs 22:1 says, “ A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches loving favor rather than silver and gold.” A good name cannot be replaced so easily, not even with lots of money. A reputation has more value than possessions or wealth. So if we are out there acting unseemly, we are bringing shame to our husbands. And why that action we are causing his (husband) name and report to be bad. We are a reflection of our husbands. If he is seen in a bad way, nine times out of ten, we will be seen in the same light because we are no longer two but one. Remember when we join together in the bonds of holy matrimony we are no longer two we become one (Genesis 2:24).

Proverbs 31:13-15 speaks of a woman’s willingness to work. She seeks wool and flax… She is like the merchant ship, she brings food… She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her husband…

In today’s microwave society, how many of us truly take care of our homes according to what God says. Do not think I am here to demean you. God wants us to wake up and take notice. Have you ever wondered why your house is in an uproar? It could possibly be because we are not obeying God’s command. When we take care of our homes, it must not be done out of obligation or to impress our husbands (although I am sure most of them would think they had something to do with it). We are doing so because we enjoy what we do and because it gives us a sense of pride and fulfillment; not to mention we are obeying God’s Word.

Now you may say to yourself, I am a good woman. There is nothing wrong with that. However there is a difference between a good woman and a Godly woman. A good woman will only go so far for her husband. A Godly woman will go above and beyond. A good woman will seek to please her husband only. A Godly woman puts God first in all things. And by pleasing God she in turn will please her husband.

Are we treating our men as men?
So many women are independent in today’s society. Nothing wrong with that. However, they want to assume the role of a man. Is that what God wants? Are we treating our men like men?

In the previous discussion, we addressed how men should treat a lady and what their role is. Where the problem lies is in how we treat our men (husbands). Many of us want to walk all over our men and talk to them in any kind of way. That, however is not how God intended it to be. In the beginning, God created man and placed him in charge of the Garden of Eden and all its inhabitants (Genesis 1: 26 & 27). God saw where man needed a companion, a helper (Genesis 2:18). So God caused man (Adam) to fall into a deep sleep. From the rib of man, He formed woman(Eve) (Genesis 2:21-23). God established the Divine order from the beginning.

Divine Order Before the Fall of Man
1. God (Jesus)
2. Man/Woman

Divine Order After the Fall of Man
1. God (Jesus) - Exodus 20:1-3
2. Man - Ephesians 5:23
3. Woman - Genesis 3:16b

Remember, in the beginning, we were created equal. Is was not until the fall of man in the Garden of Eden did we lose our equality. Ephesians 5:22 & 23 says, “Wives submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church.” Now what comes next may sound a little confusing. But just keep walking with us. God is going to give us understanding.

Just as Christ is not inferior to the Father but is the second person in the Trinity, so wives are equal to their own husbands. Hold up, how can we be equal if we lost our status after the fall in the Garden of Eden? Here’s how. In a marriage, a husband and wife have different roles. A wife voluntary submission arises out of her own submission to Christ. Notice the word voluntary. When we chose to become the wife of a man, we are deciding voluntarily to submit to our husband. Meaning we now are choosing to step back. Now this is no way means we are a door mat to be walked up on. We still are to be treated with the up most respect. However, because we have decided to submit, our attitudes towards our husbands but change. We must treat men as men; (1) Treat our men with respect (2) Honor our men (3) Encourage our men not degrade him or tear him down (4) Help our men (5) Allow our men to take their rightful place as the head of the house as God commands. In doing this, we are obeying God’s Word.

If we follow the instructions left for us in the Bible, ladies will be treated as ladies and men will be treated as men. Then the blessings of God will pour out more. We think we have seen it all. But eyes hath not seen nor ears heard all that God has in store for those who obey His commands. The best is yet to come.Treat Her Like A Lady - Min.
1 - A Christian husband should demonstrate toward their wives an unselfish spirit.
2 - A Christian husband should be intimately aware of his wife’s needs, her strengths and
weaknesses, and her goals and desires. He should know as much about her as possible
in order to respond in the best way to her.
3 - A Christian husband should give honor to his wife because she deserves honor.
4 - A Christian husband’s spiritual relationship with God is directly affected by the way
he treats his wife.

Ephesians 5:25 says, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it.” This means husbands are to imitate Christ’s love, the kind of love that is willing to lay down one’s life for another person and serve that person even if it means suffering.

How many husbands are willing to make that kind of sacrifice for their wives? How many husbands are truly concerned about their wives happiness? How many marriages have been ruined because a husband spends more time online in chat rooms that with his wife? Do not misunderstand me. The internet is not an evil tool. It only becomes evil and a problem when you allow it to control you instead of you controlling it!

According to 1 Corinthians 7:3-5, Husbands have a duty to maintain sexual relations with his wife so that she is not tempted my Satan to have sex outside of the marriage. Sexual relations is not a wham bam thank you ma’am thing. It is caressing and loving and showing genuine affection towards your wife. It is telling her you love her daily. It is listening to her and allowing her to speak her mind even if you(men) don’t agree.

So again the question is, “Are We Being Treated Like A Lady?”
What do you think? Sound of men and women.
Scripture: Psalm 51: 1-11

My brothers and my sisters, in this text, David is saying to God, “Create in me(Him) oh Lord a clean heart and renew with me(Him) the right spirit.” When we go back into the deep recesses of our minds and take a look at clean, we need to understand what clean really means. Webster defines clean as being pure not dirty; free from contamination; undefiled. When you are corruptible you are unclean. And the Word of God says that He will not dwell in an unclean temple. Now the temple in question is not a building with four walls and a ceiling. No the temple is the church and the church is us. Therefore we must clean up the mess that is on the inside of us. All those holy clichés which try to rule the church; all those bodies trying to tell the pastor how to run the church. It is time for us to start cleaning house. Isaiah 40:31 it says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint.” You see my brothers and my sisters David knew that he had sinned against God. He had messed up! So David had to repent. He had to clean up what he messed up Mark 1:15 says, “the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Psalm gives expression to why David was a man after God’s own heart. He was not perfect. But he had a sensitivity to sin that few knew about. Notice especially the use of the first person singular: mine iniquity, my sin and my transgression and so on. The first two verses are an introductory petition rich with meaning in the use of four figures for forgiveness. After confessing His guilt, David (v. 3-6) prays for inner renewal and promises, thanksgiving and ministry (v.13-17). This passage clearly teaches that those who have failed God maybe restored to the service of God. Can you clean up what you have messed up? Starting all over again will be rough. Will you clean all this mess up? Brothers and sisters, make no mistake, Jesus is on his way. Before it is to late you need to clean up controlling nature that runs ramped in the house of God and all the lies, clean up the backbiting and cheating, clean up the fornicating and adulterous ways, clean up the stealing and dealing. Mark 7:15 says, “There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can be defiled him. But the things which come out of him those are they that defile a man. This simply means cleaning up what you messed up starts from within. You must dust those hidden corners of your heart. You must evaluate one’s self just as David did. Ask the Father to search me; to create in me a clean heart. David prayed take not they Holy Spirit from me (v.11) need never be offered by new testament saints, since the Holy Spirit indwells every Christian permanently (1 Cor. 6:19). My brothers and sisters, David’s cry here may reflect fear; not reality of losing the spirit and being rejected by God. Thus he ask God to restore the joy of his salvation, nor salvation itself. Isn’t God good saints. All you got to do is clean up all the mess!!!!!!
1 Peter 2:9,10 - But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation. God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His marvelous light. Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God's people. Once you received n mercy; now you have received God's mercy.

Decisions. It's a funny thing about decisions. For every decision there is a consequence. And the results of those consequences may impact our lives in a positive or negative way.

Because we are not like the world, because we are a chosen people, because we are royal priests, because we are a holy nation and because we are God's very own, we must let out words and actions line up. When talking about a level of excellency concerning our decisions, where are we on the grading scale? Are we acing through with A's?
Blowing by with B's? Carelessly caring with C's? Drowning with D's? Or falling and failing with F's? In our quest for a level of excellency, are our decisions lining up with the will of God?

Throughout the Bible, there are countless accounts of decisions that man had to make. Some decisions served to show forth man's resolve to men that no matter what they were going to hold to God's unchanging hand. While other accounts make it plain that the Lord wants to know who's side you are on.

So don't think the decisions we face today in the year 2009 are harder than the decisions faced over 2000 years ago. The Word of God says in Ecclesiastes 1:9, "History merely repents itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new." Therefore, the same decisions we face today were faced on yesterday.

In order to answer the question posed earlier, are the decisions we make lining up with the will of God, we must find out what the word decision really means and what is the will of God.

Webster's dictionary provides us with several definitions for the word decision. According to Webster, decision means the act of deciding or settling a dispute; the act of making up one's mind; a judgment or conclusion or firmness of the mind.

Because God created us with a free will, we have to make the decision to do His will. So what is the will of God? The will of God is His plan and His purpose for our lives. God desires that ll people do His will. God's will is always good, acceptable and perfect. If God's will is always good, acceptable and perfect, where does that leave us for we are not. Although we are not perfect, we strive to be. And that is what He is asking of us.

Now sometimes God's will may lead to suffering as it did with Jesus when He died for our sins. Whatever the case, we want God's will to be done not our will.

Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path - Proverbs 3:5 & 6.

In order to discern God's will and gain understanding, we must pray and fast. Jesus counts those who do God's will as His own family members. Which means, we are joint heirs with Him and we will live forever.

The mind is the seat of consciousness in which thinking, feeling and other things take place. We are constantly attacked there by the enemy. He tries to distort the truth so that we make a conscious decision to believe the lies he speaks, which in turn will put us outside the will of God. To thwart the advances of the enemy, we need to make sure when we put on our armor, we don't forget anything, especially our helmet of salvation. The helmet of salvation is protection from danger, harm or even death. It is the renewing of the spirit. It is the restoration of right relationship with God. At all costs we must protect our minds. Fro the enemy desires to steal, kill and destroy us and our relationship with God.

Romans 12:2 part b and c of that verse says, "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Renewing the mind simply means allowing spiritual transformation (change) to take place to reshape and reform the way we think.

Being that we live in a time when instant gratification and gaining material possessions consumes and clouds the thoughts of many, it is extremely important that we (the believers) talk the talk and walk the walk. For this generation is looking for proof that the decisions that were made on our yesterday are the same we decisions we make today.

In the book of Joshua, we see the children of Israel had become a nation of pagan worshipers. Even though God used Moses to lead them out of Egypt and even though the mantle of leadership was passed from Moses to Joshua, the Israelites make the decision to bow down to false idols. Don't we see this happening today. Joshua 24:15, Joshua is showing the Israelites where he stands. "And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your father served that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Just because Joshua was the leader of the Israelites, he still had a decision to make, whether to serve God or to serve the pagan gods of the land. Doesn't that sound familiar in what we face today. So many things are replacing God. Joshua however, chose God. Now some may say Joshua spoke to be boastful and put fear into the children of Israel so they would follow him. Not so. In Matthew 6:24, Jesus says: "NO MAN can serve two masters; for you will hate the one and love the other, or he will be loyal (hold) to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (wealth, property, money, or anything you put before God)." We serve a jealous God and we are to have no other gods before him. In making the decision to serve God and God only like Joshua did, the decision we made lines up with the will of God.

The woman with the issue of blood gives us another example of a decision lining up with God's will. According to the Bible, this woman went all over from doctor to doctor seeking some type of medical help. She drained her bank account trying different remedies all of which failed. Question: How many of us have ever been in this situation? I know I can testify to this. But she heard of a man from Galilee who was passing by and she made a decision despite her condition to press her way to Jesus, knowing her life was at risk being around people in what they considered an unclean state. Have you ever had to press your way no matter what the situation or circumstance looked like? She knew if she could just touch the hem (HEM) not him (HIM) of His garment she would be made whole. So she reached and touched and Jesus said, "Someone has touched me." Now imagine the fear that woman must have felt. But Jesus simply said, "Your faith had made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction." Because she made the decision to get to Jesus no matter what, because she made the decision not to let the crowds of people deter her from her goal, she received the healing she needed. You say what does this have to do with our decisions lining up with the will of God? When you make the decision no to care who sees you seeking God, when we make the decision to press on in spite of how we feel, we are lining up with will of God and a level of excellency is bestowed upon us. For how can we attain a level of excellence if we have no one to pattern ourselves after. We learn from the successes and failures of our ancestors. Remember, God above all wishes that none should perish. And in order for that to happen, we must make the decision to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. For no man can come unto the Father but by Him. And that Him is JESUS!

The greatest decision we can make is choosing Jesus. Because that decision line up with the will of God. He gives us a priceless and precious gift. Jesus says in John 8:12, " I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have light that leads to life." Eternal life is the greatest reward we can receive for making the decision to line up with the will of God and choose Jesus.

We all want to get the level of excellence where our decisions line up with God's will. In order for that to happen, we must develop a relationship with God. Before we arise from our beds we should ask God what is His plan for our life today. If you really want to see how awesome God really is, ask Him what shall you put on today. Now it may sound strange. But what you are doing is having an intimate one on one with God. Before leaving home make the decision to put the whole armor of God on. Don't leave anything behind. As you walking out of your door, make the decision that nothing will separate me from the love of God, no death, no life, no angels, no demons, no fears, no worries, no powers, no principalities, no spiritual wickedness in high places, no depth, no height, no situation or circumstance, no man or woman, no boy or girl, no devil in hell will make me change my mind. A songwriter penned, "I have decided to follow Jesus. Though none go with me still I will follow. The cross before me, the world behind me. No turning back. No turning back."
Strive for a level of excellence. Say that the decisions I make from this day forth will line up with the will of God. Declare, I will attain a level of excellence in the mighty, majestic and powerful name of Jesus Christ.
Be Blessed!
