Philippians 2:13 asserts:  For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey him and the power to do what pleases him.  (TLRB).  God is forever seeking expression through you.  God speaks to man through desire.  If you are sick, you desire health; if poor, you desire wealth; if in prison you desire freedom.  Desire is basic in life.
