Test

Test to see if a desire is true.
Does it wait even though the time of expected manifestation seems long overdue?
As compromises arise, does it stand firm, or has it been withdrew?
Does it remain after every opposition has come hitherto?

Just Say No

It's so easy to just say, "no,"

When you are not in the throe

Of passion; but when the heat is on and every urge in your body says "go,"

Can you still say, "No"?

Why wait until it's two

Against who?

It's hard enough to fend him off, but yourself as well?

The fire you're playing with can land yourself in hell:

Broken heart, unplanned pregnancy, broken dreams, disease, ended life.

For a moment of pleasure? That's too high a price!

So say,… Continue

Repent

Pensive means to think,

To ponder and to weigh.

Repent means to think again

Because prior thoughts have gone astray.

It's time to reevaluate

The choices we have made.

It's time to tear down

The foundations we have laid.

It's time to build a structure

That is new

Upon a firm foundation

That is true.

Born again to create

What is yet to be.

New thoughts giving new eyes

Brilliant clarity.

Every thought… Continue

Fisherman

I

Determined to go a fishin' to bring back a bountiful catch for myself and others

For I am

A fisherman.

And others followed me

And we

Went fishing

All that night and caught -- nothing.

We returned weary and frustrated with empty nets.

This was one experience one not soon forgets.

All our labor was in vain;

And our egos were in pain,

As a call came from the shore,

"Have you any meat? So we answered with a… Continue

The Darkest Hour

The darkest hour,

They came with lanterns

Seeking the man called "the Christ."

Judas stepped forward,

Welcomed the Savior,

Betraying the Lord with a kiss.

A man seized the Lord.

Peter rushed forward,

Severing the man from his ear.

Jesus then turned to

The man and healed him,

Then to Peter to calmly instruct,

"This is the cup that

My Father has given.

I drink it, for this is His will.

There… Continue

Continuous Force

Many faces yet one people.

Many feet yet one stand:

Together in unity, love and peace

With our fellow man.

Having all men working with one purpose

And speaking with one voice,

The impossible becomes possible

And success becomes our choice.

Every obstacle is surmountable

And every problem is resolved

Without hatred, strife and prejudice,

When every man is harmoniously involved.

As touching any matter

Collectively… Continue

Obliterate

Of all the events of my history,

Which should I store in my memory:

My failures or my victories?

My mistakes are remembered more easily,

Obsuring my success with its effigy;

Until the depiction of who I am is a poor imagery,

At least in my own mind.

So stop: let me rewind!

Should slothful times outweigh days of zealous activity?

Should periods of fervency be doused by seasons of frigidity?

Should moments of religious hypocrisy remove all hope of… Continue

Penes

Poneros, ponos, penes -
Derivatives of one root.
Evil, pain, poverty -
Branches of one shoot.

A sense of lack begets a sickness
That sin attempts to heal;
But deception can only be cured,
By the truth revealed.

He Whom You Obey

He whom you obey becomes your master

And you become his slave.

Your decision is quite serious.

Your decision is quite grave.

Your strength, his kingdom builds.

Your wealth, his coffers fills.

Your agreement, his goals do empower.

Your warfare, his enemies to devour.

There is but good and evil.

There is but life and death.

The choice you choose to make

Becomes your only test.

The consequences of your choice may be a… Continue

Look Toward Your Joy

The birthing process is very painful and comes with a risk of death to mother, child, or both. Is 54:1, sing, O barren woman...cry aloud, for you shall bear more children than the married woman. Make the sound of birthing. Though you travail in sorrow, when the child is born, you shall be filled with joy and so great shall be your joy that it will cause you to forget the pain you endured. Jesus endured the cross for the joy that was set before him. Set your eyes on Jesus. Look toward your joy.

Be a Man

I think it is easy to be soft, easy to let go, easy to not care, easy not to accept responsibility and not be held accountable, easy not to be a man. But is that what anyone wants? I don't think so. It is hard to be tough, determined and tenacious; it is hard to hold on no matter what; it is hard to care, because that means you get involved and do something about the situation; it is hard to accept the responsibility, especially when there is a risk that things will go wrong, so very wrong; it… Continue

Shout Now!

Trials come manifold.

Grief runs to take hold.

Tears, they flow like a river from my face.

I am comforted by God's healing grace.

In a bottle, my God stores all my tears.

My prayers are heard by his attentive ears.

My high priest, touched by my infirmity,

Brings me rest among this calamity.

Suffering and pain shall not go to waste

But to produce my good, they move in haste.

Weeping may endure, lasting all the night.

But when the morning… Continue

I Wandered In the Wilderness

God is good and worthy to be praised. He is a mighty deliverer, who brings us out of bondage by his mighty hand. He leads us through a wilderness and brings us to a Promised Land, to a place that he has prepared for us.

"I wandered in the wilderness

In a solitary way.

I cried to the Lord, "Deliver me!"

He led me forth by the right way.

He led me to a city,

A city for me to dwell.

Thank God for his goodness,

For his wonderful work,

For a city… Continue

Blood Upon the Sheet

With love in his eyes, Christ looked upon me

And called me to be his bride.

He knew my life had been full of sin,

Yet he refused to be denied.

He carried me into the marriage tent.

The Father waited outside

To recover the sheet that was upon the bed,

Then judgment He would decide.

Blood, He sought as evidence

Of my purity;

If none, eternal death for me

Was a surety.

Christ took a knife and pierced himself,

For me… Continue

Precious Memories

Precious memories of my youth
Will surely last forever,
There in the pages of my mind.
You and I together.
Everything we do
Shall be written down.
Love’s first kiss or love’s first heartache
In its pages shall be found.
So let us carefully choose
The actions we will take,
Because what we do today
Are memories we create.

Stimulus Package

Again Congress has presented a "Quickie": a poorly thought out plan that stuffs the pockets of political supporters and does little to solve the problem. With 800 billion dollars being spent for future generation to repay, we should make sure that every penny is going toward a measure that will stimulate the economy. The solution is for the money to go toward JOBS. $800 billion dollars is enough to put 10 MILLION people to work for years. We need to designate the entire plan to a grant that… Continue

First Lesbian Prime Minister elected in Iceland

http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2009-01-28-iceland-prime-minister_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip

I believe that this is a very sad time for the world. I view homosexuality as sinful and shameful even as I view adultery and fornication and any other sexual perversion, such as rapist and pedophiles. Certainly the times of Lot are upon us. For even then the people "of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly." (Genesis 13:13)

What was the sin of Sodom that… Continue
