The Proverbs 31 Man

I submit this for your review and comments:

1) He makes wise decisions

- Only a man who is able to seek the rich counsel of the Lord for insight can lead his loved ones wisely.

2) He bears the consequences of his mistakes

- His spirit is not crushed by adversity, and he doesn’t blame others for his problems. He simply takes responsibility and finds a solution.

3) A praying man is a powerful man.

- Only through prayer will a man fully know how…

Progression of Immodesty by John Calvin (1509-1564)

Calvin's words were prophetic, regarding the progression of immodesty among Christian women:

John Calvin (1509-1564)

John Calvin (cited in Men, Women, and Order in the Church: 3 Sermons by John Calvin, by Seth Skolnitzky. Presbyterian Heritage Pub.):

"So if women are thus permitted to have their heads uncovered and to show their hair, they will eventually be allowed to expose their entire breasts, and they will come to make their exhibitions… Continue

Is Heaven the Reward of the Saved?

Do the righteous go to heaven when they die?

Is heaven the reward of the saved?

I'm not going to Heaven when I die. No one has so far, and the Scriptures are plain that the earth, not Heaven, is the abode of the saved. Notice Matthew 5:5,

"the meek shall inherit the earth";

Psalms 115:16,

"the heavens are the LORD'S, but the earth He has given to men";

John 3:13,

"no man hath ascended up to Heaven";

and Acts… Continue

Does the New Testament Teach All Ten Commandments?

Does the New Testament Teach All Ten Commandments?

Did Christ come to do away with or replace the Ten Commandments? Are all Ten Commandments taught and enforced in the New Testament? Did Paul teach them to the Gentiles? What about the book of James?

Most who profess to follow Christ believe that all of the Ten Commandments were abolished by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. They believe that Christ came to “do away” with those “harsh” commandments. Some believe He… Continue

The Truth About *Lent*

The Truth About *Lent*

By

Kenneth M Hoeck

Millions of Christians are observing 40 days of repentance and fasting, as a ‘prelude’ to Easter. The basis for this observance, they claim, is found in Romans 5:20. For some, Lent is observed after having spent a week in riotous living (Mardi Gras), the theory being that if you're going to spend 40 days repenting of sins, you should have plenty of sins to repent of. But is Lent Biblical? For the real facts…

Christianity and the Civil War: Did You Know?

Christianity and the Civil War: Did You Know?

Little-known or remarkable facts about Christianity during the American Civil War

Major revivals broke out in the Civil War armies. In the Union Army, between 100,000 and 200,000 soldiers were converted; among Confederate forces, approximately 150,000 troops converted to Christ. Perhaps 10 percent of all Civil War soldiers experienced conversions during the conflict.

Abraham Lincoln, though he knew the Bible… Continue

"The History Of Mardi Gras" What Every Believer Should Know

What Every Believer Should Know From History.com

Pagan Origins

Mardi Gras (from the French words, meaning "fat Tuesday"), or Carnival (from the Latin words carn-caro levare, meaning "removal of flesh"), is a Christian festival that embodies many traditions that originated with the ancient Greeks and Romans--relating to their gods and religious festivals honoring spring fertility rites.

In the early Middle Ages, the Catholic Church was unable to abolish… Continue

You Are Not Under Law, but Under Grace

You Are Not Under Law, but Under Grace

What did the Apostle Paul mean when he wrote that a believer is 'Not under the law, but under grace?'

Did he mean that a believer was at liberty to sin and break God's law? Obviously not; because elsewhere in his letters Paul advises believers to obey the law.

What, then, did Paul mean? The answer is: he meant 'that a sinner who repents is no longer under the curse and death penalty of the law; but… Continue

What is the *Law* written in your heart of the New Covenant? See Jer. 31:33 & Heb. 8.10

Jer 31:33

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

The word "law" that is to be put in the inward parts and written on the hearts of the New Covenant believer is the "TORAH":

1 Pet. 4:17 "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God"

1 Peter 4:17:

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: That judgement according to Jesus' own words is to be "righteous judgement'.

Many commands of God require the exercise of righteous judgment:

"But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us" (2 Thessalonians 3:6).

"And if…

A Call For The Removal Of IMMODEST Pictures From BPN

To All the Female Membership Of BPN

I just read a conversation on a personal page, between a Pastor and a female member of BPN. The Pastor had respectfully complained to the young lady about her photos being "provocative." She retorted that the did not think that her photos were provocative and criticized him of judging her... When I went through her photos, she truly was a very attractive your woman, but yes, on one photo, the tops of both of her breasts were bare and busting out… Continue

Pt. 1) Home Church Basics

House Church Basics

God is changing the Church, and that, in turn, will change the world. Millions of Christians around the world are aware of an imminent reformation of global proportions. They say, in effect: "Church as we know it is preventing Church as God wants it." A growing number of them are surprisingly hearing God say the very same things. There is a collective new awareness of age-old revelations, a corporate spiritual echo. In the following "15 Theses" I will summarize…

God said "Wait!" - (A poem promoting sexual chastity)

God said "Wait!"

The word of God tell us that God said "Wait!"

In lusts and premarital sex to not participate?

With illicit sex one does one's own self harm.

By falling into Satan's grip and out of God loving arms.

Why do carnal things that only make God sad?

When waiting gives you peace most folks have never had.

Why clutter your mind and heart with those illicit connections?

Once made, you never can erase from your mind,…

Why We Should Not Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Why We Should Not Celebrate Valentine’s Day

1. February 14 was an old celebration to Juno Februata, the Roman goddess of sexual passion.

2. It included pairing adolescents by chance drawings for casual sex and going steady.

3. February 15 was the pagan feast of Lupercalia, celebrated in Rome long before Christ.

4. The pagan feast day Lupercalia was a fertility rite and celebration of superstitious Romans.

Obelisks, Temples, and Towers/Steeples

Obelisks, Temples, and Towers/Steeples

The Washington Monument in Washington, D.C., is modeled after an Egyptian obelisk. According to Diodorus, Queen Semiramis in Babylon erected a 130-foot tall obelisk. The obelisk was popular in Egypt, associated with sun-worship. The erect upright pointed column represents the phallus, the male sex organ, of Baal (Nimrod). Here we see a common theme of Babylonian worship: emphasis on perverted sexuality. The Bible mentions such… Continue

Pastor, Why Do You Have A Steeple On Your Church?

The Steeple and the Asherah Pole

The Westminster Dictionary of the Bible tells us that an Asherah pole was always erected at the altar of Baal. In fact, absolutely every single alter of Baal had an Asherah pole beside it, which was an upright, denuded tree! This type of phallic pole has always been associated with sun worship. (Interestingly, nearly twenty different tribes of American Indians performed the “Sundance” around a “sun pole.”)

There are many… Continue

The First Century Churches Met In Private Homes, Not In "Church Buildings"

The Apostolic Church Was Composed of Churches in the Homes of It's Leaders

Today, when we think of going to church, we generally think of going to a large building designed for a large congregation. It is even believed that the larger the congregation, the more successful the church. When we stop to consider the very first “church” from the first century, we find a very different picture. The first century church was a group of people instead of a building or a denomination.… Continue
