Jesus knew He had to go into the wilderness for 40 days.
He knew He would be hungry and dared and tempted and tried.
He knew He would have a need to be baptized of John.
He knew the people would run out of wine at the wedding feast and His mother would expect Him to do something about it.
He knew how many times, in spite of what they had seen; His disciples would doubt Who He said He was.
He knew He would meet a woman at the well who not only had five men,…Continue

I took a fall recently and I hurt my back. And the next few hours were okay. I was in pain, but only when I moved the muscle. So I went to the gym and tried to do a workout, ending up only on the treadmill. But did you know that walking affects the muscles in your back? I had not realized that until I tried doing so.
I endured about 45 minutes of walking on the treadmill and by the time I got home, my back was roaring. I soaked in some warm tub water and when I got out, I…Continue

The enemy is always on the prowl. He is always looking for a way into our lives that he might be able to wreak havoc, so that he can do what he does, kill, steal and destroy. Lives, homes, finances, health, relationships. If you can name it, he will attempt to destroy it. Nothing is off limits. But in order for him to do this he has to do what he does best, deceive. So what he does with us, as he did with Eve, is take that Truth that God spoke to us and twist it just enough for us to…Continue

People often say when they are confronted with their sin, "Who made you judge?" "You are not my judge!" "You do not hold the keys to heaven and hell." "God did not send you to tell me that!" "Who are you to tell me what I did wrong? What about you?" "Who died and left you boss?" "If God wanted me to stop doing that He would tell me Himself." "God loves me just the way I am." All kinds of things we hear. And it's all foolishness. Foolish…

One of my Facebook buddies posted as her status, the words “Frosty the Snowman was a jolly and happy soul”... and immediately I thought of contentment. Frosty had a pipe, and a button nose, and two eyes made out of coal. And he was content. He was happy. How do I know that? Because he sang about it. Don’t we sing when we’re happy? Anyway, it said a lot to me. We certainly have more than a pipe, a button nose and two eyes made out of coal, yet how many of us aren't content with who we…Continue

I was out today at a Shopping Center getting my nails done and afterwards drove over to Kohl's to return a few items. As I pulled up there was a young woman and a bunch of people crowding around. The woman was standing against the door of the store shouting at someone about something which I couldn't quite make out. But I parked my car and started walking towards the store. And as I did that, I saw a cop car pull up to the store. I walked closer and at that time a cop was taking the…Continue

I came home from church on Sunday and did my usual, immediately uploaded the sermon into my computer and then I went on into the kitchen to check on the meal I was preparing for Sunday dinner, which was in the slow cooker. (Side note… these things are wonderful if you can remember ahead of time that is what you want to do… lol) Anyway, I stirred up my chicken, basting it with sauce and realized that it had made a little too much juice. And as I went to pour it out, I heard God say, “Wait.”…Continue

Sometime ago there was a term that people were saying, which I remember from baseball… ‘Who’s Your Daddy?” And it came shortly after Pedro Martinez went to the Boston Red Sox. In playing the Yankees, he had a few pitching losses and so the fans began to shout at him, “Who’s Your Daddy?” And in one of his remarks, he said, “They were. (The Yankees).” Because…Continue

I have often said how much God uses songs to inspire me, to motivate me. He uses them as reminders when I get a certain place, I don’t need to be. And a few years back I actually wrote about this and how “Music Is the Voice of God,” (inspired by yet another song) and today is no different.…Continue

I read something recently… there is nothing that you won’t go through, that you and God won’t go through together. Whatever we have gone through, God was there. Whatever we are going through, God is there. And whatever we …Continue

I refuse to believe
I refuse to believe that you don’t know
I refuse to believe that you haven’t a clue
That there is a God in heaven.
I refuse to believe it
I refuse to believe that there is no God
When I am able to open my eyes and see the home that He has made for me and the beautiful people that He has placed in my life
When I can look around and see all the sorrow in the world, and in the midst of it…Continue

had a conversation with the Lord and I gave Him my laundry list of things that I did not like. How many of us do that? Tell God all the things that are wrong with our lives, refusing to see all the things that are right... God spoke something to me about that one too, but I guess it's for another time... Anyway, thank God for His grace and mercy!!!…Continue

I was reminded of a song a couple of days ago.. wasn't quite sure why it popped in my head, given it's what most Christians would call, "worldly." But it was a part of my world at one point. Now, don't get me wrong, I've been delivered from some stuff.. people, things, smoking, drinking, and even music, but God will still use (and I am yet open) to whatever…Continue
