Can you smell what the ROCK is cooking?

"Turning your rocks into revelations instead of restrictions"

This week's message was very profound indeed, we talked about the rock its purpose and its uses well let's look at the rock

and define it in more detail : A rock is one of the basic elemental forms in the earth yet it is one of the most abundant resources.

Rocks have many practical and residual purposes in our earth for instances in some places rocks hold the soil together. in

other places the provide borders and barriers ie the great wall of China. Many types of rocks hold valuable minerals ,energy,

(coal) resources, extraordinary beauty (crystal) and extremely great value (diamonds).

Rocks have played an intrinsic part in our bibilcal history and the alliteration in which was alluded to should be observed in

greater detail.

Let's look at David in the bible , a simple shepherd who was not amongst the elite in the familiar line, like many of us he came

from humble beginnings, I'm sure you've heard this story a thousand time in every variation so I'll spare you most of the details.

David spent alot of time "out of the loop" of the popular, often the last one to be included, remembered or even thought about.

David was peculiar in sight of the LORD, which gave him an advantage in being "ruddy" which meant he was continually

exposed to the sun giving him a red hue to his hair.

In essence David spent a good portion of his time outside giving him an opportunity to get familiar with the elements.

We likewise have been "outside" outside the fathers' will, outside of the truth, outside the box etc

exposing us to the thing of the world. In our time of being outside,

there were many things we've learned about survival. As well,we've learned which things don't

work (lol)

David also learned to simplify his survival techniques (pack light) amongst his greatest battles he fought and defeated a lion

and a bear. We likewise have done battle with some things in our own lives which threatened to destroy us and "eat us alive"

through the grace of GOD, we made it through!

Well the message is about rocks, so I'll try not to divert too much but we've all been caught between

" a rock and a hard place"amen. So let's now focus on David's survival technique which can be simplified by becoming good at

what you do. Eccl 9:10

David was known for is accuracy in being effective with a slingshot and his weapon of choice was 5 smooth stones.

The idea they were smooth indicates that they had undergone some type of process more than likely it was water which the

bible says he found near a brook.

So lets follow the path of the rock throughout the bible and understand the significance of why GOD uses the simple and

foolish things to confound the wise.

In Gen 4:8
We see the rock for the first time in the course of studies, Cain slew Abel with a rock causing his blood to spill into the ground (creating covenant with death)

The rock has now become a weight which caused our fate to be sealed with physical separation from life

"which is found in the blood". Lev 17:11

let's look In Gen 49:24 In this passage we see GOD re-establishing the covenant with Jacob and as a result of him finding his identity , the covenant which established with Abraham, and Isaac is now inherited by Jacob who has become Israel.
(Man of Royalty) name change.

Later on in Exodous 17:6 we observe the rock used as a provision to bring forth water in dry places, this is significant
and I'll tell you why later.

In Numbers 20:8-11 we observe the rock again being used to provide in a desperate situation, surely we have all experienced
GOD in similar areas of difficulty in our lives as a revelation of who he is.

The next chapter Deuteronomy 32:4, we have a direct revelation in writing of the nature of GOD as a fortress and a promise keeper through the laws (10 Commandments) given to Moses.

In Deut 32:13 we see GOD using the rock to make bitter places sweet.

Over in Psalms 18:2, David declares who GOD is in his situation, that allowed him to defeat his enemies.
the same theme is repeated as to how GOD transformed to provide in various situations throoughout David's life

The same way, GOD has allowed his provisions to transform to fit the needs in our lives at divers times I Cor 10:13

In Isaiah, the prophet is foreshadowing the impending coming of Christ, in Isaiah 26:4 GOD is identified as the rock who has
appeared down through the ages (Rock of ages) upon whom all things are founded upon.

In the the new testament, we begin to see the unveiling of a long-awaited revelation of Christ Jesus, the Rock of our Salvation
is given unto Peter and the disciples on the mount . The significance was related to solid understanding and truth that can
not be shaken by temporal influences. Matt 16:18

When we received Jesus as Lord and Savior, this revelation became real, valid and unshakeable in our lives our hearts and our minds.

As the message continues, we see in I Cor 10:4 the unveiling of all who has leaned or depended on GOD is shared by the usage the symbolism pertaining to the rock. (this is our quest for the truth being manifested through the Word with Rock being related to spiritual food)

This is relevant to the Beatitudes when Jesus said " blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled." Matt 5:3

The unfolding of another revelation begins with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ when he is placed upon the cross, the revelation is found in these scriptures:

Matt 27:51-52 In this scripture we find the Savior who has now partake of the sins of the world gives up his life for all, instantly the veil (stone) of the temple rent from bottom to the top, there was such an earthquake as has not been before and the rocks rent (broke/crumbled) The graves of the believers, who had believed in Christ were opened, and the dead walked the earth
40 days.

As if this wasn't proof-positive that GOD was cooking up something they buried Jesus in a borrowed tomb, and sealed the deal with a large stone that required several men to move.

Isn't this like our GOD? Just when it seems you are trapped with no way out , "He makes a way out of no way" just when it
seems all hope is lost, He is that hope that maketh us not ashamed!

Well the story continues because for 3 days " the treasure which was hidden in an earthen vessel" appears lost to all and on
the day that rings in Satan's ears like a wardrum, Jesus got up with all power in His hands!! Zech 4:6

We have a reason to be bold in the face of adversity, because as joint-heirs with Christ we inherit the victory, the land,
the kingdom, salvation, the whole kit and caboodle!

Well here's the mystery of Ex17:6 remember this i know you've heard this but maybe not from this perspective, When Jesus was walking on the water, the Peter was the one who received the revelation of who he was so his understanding was
solidified that Jesus was Christ and therefore he alone was able to all things through Christ who strengthened him including Walk on water!!!!!!! Matt 14:25

Which brings me to my final revelation, I've learned why we shouldn't weep as those who have no hope. I Thes4:13
because the gravestones are only a reminder, that GOD knows where all of His children lay and in the hour of his return,
the mystery shall be revealed! ICor 15:52
