Faith International Community Church had its physical beginning in the home of Pastor Robert D. Owens Sr. and First Lady Dorothy Owens, 334 Holland Dr. Smithfield N.C. on the morning of October1, 2006. At that time, we thought it was going to be a small service with me, my wife and children, but as the clock approached 11:oo that morning, more people began to come. It was then that I knew God had begun a quick work. The following were present at this meeting: Pastor Robert D. Owens, First Lady Dorothy Owens, Antawin Anthony Cole, Anai’ah Young, Robert Darden Owens Jr. Jorden Young, Elder Roberta and Deacon Sam McGill, LeShawn Edouard, De’ja McGill, Elder Beulah Darden, Michelle and Jeff Pender, Margaret Sanders, Brian Sanders and Marchelle Sanders,
There was a great manifestation of the Holy Spirit during this meeting. Many prophecies went forth; spiritual as well as physical strength was renewed. The call was clear. The enemy was mad but we stayed focused and knew that “no weapons formed against us shall be able to prosper. We continued to have service at this location until the enemy sent a fax to the Planning board of Smithfield to tell that we were having church in a neighborhood that was not zoned for churches. It didn’t come as a shock because God had already showed us things that the enemy was doing it was just a matter of time ,but what the enemy didn’t know was that they pushed us in to where God intended for us to be. We never missed a service and before the month of October was out we were at our present location. The alter can testify that lives have been changed, minds renewed, and souls saved. To God be the glory.
