Death and life are in the power of the tongue

Prov 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit

Too many Christians are speaking words into the atmosphere without truly understanding the effect their words are having.

Matthew 12:36-37

But i say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgement. For by your words you are justified, and by your words you will be condemned

We tend to use words very carelessly, and then justify doing so by saying we really didn't mean to say them, This is the very thing Jesus warned us about in the bible. There is an accountability for every word, even idle words that we speak.

What have we been speaking over our children? (blessings or curses)

What self imposed curses are you under?

I have cancer, cancer runs in my family

I am so tired all the time, i don't have energy for anything

I would rather be dead than to live like this

Some of us have released words into the atmosphere, months ago, even years ago, and have left them hovering, there are spiritual laws in affect and you have to do something to set things right. You have to begin to release right confessions

Repent/revoke/replace w/right confessions

Genesis 27:12-13

While Rebekah was persuading her son Jacob to deceive his father Isaac, Jacob fearful of being caught said, "perhaps my father will feel me, and i shall seem to be a deceiver to him, and shall bring a curse upon myself and not a blessing.

Rebekah responded by saying, Let your curse be upon me my son

Genesis 27:21,

Isaac said to Jacob,

"Come near that i may feel you my son, whether you are really my son Esau or not.

(read the entire account)

We see the words Jacob and Rebekah speaking manifesting immediately after

Peter denied Jesus three times and by his words forfeited his position as a disciple.

Three days later, at the empty tomb, the angel told the women,

"go tell the disciples (and peter) that he is going before you into Galilee

Later John 21:15-17 records how by the sea of Galilee Jesus opened a way for peter to regain his position as one of the disciples.

He asked peter three time to affirm his love to revoke the three times he denied him.

There is a pattern, a spiritual principle, we don't need to miss here.

Repent/revoke/replace

Some of us need to repent of some of the things we have spoken out of our mouths and replace them in the atmosphere with right confessions to release ourselves and others from word curses

God has given us power to bind and to loose with our tongues, to create with our tongues

We have to allow the holy spirit to direct us in the words we speak, because our words effect change in the atmosphere and because of that we should always seek guidance from the holy spirit, even when praying for others
