In this age we are faced with so many issues regarding our privacy. Now more than ever the threat of identity theft is prevalent. People are becoming someone else through access to private information. This computerized, digitized age makes it hard for us to maintain our privacy as Big Brother looks at every word we type and every search we make to determine if we are a threat to national security. What we choose to make public is what we want people to know about us but it is not all that they see. Sometimes we give people greater access than we think and in moments of "weakness" we divulge secrets that can come back to haunt us at the most inopportune time. We hide who we are but someone is always watching. The difference between God and man is that the faults that are exposed through God are for your deliverance and testimony, they are meant to be blessings to those who are struggling - that would be all of us. Hiding God's blessings means that I chose not to endorse Him or give bear witness to who He is in my life.

Your user id is far greater than what you log in as on MySpace, Yahoo and FaceBook, it identifies who you are operating as at that moment and if it contradicts your actions your are not only deceiving others you are also deceiving yourself. Your user id is sistersaint123 or pastor4life but if your actions are of the contrary God sees sinner4satan and hypocrite2man and eventually so will everyone else. We flaunt our sin but try to hide it at the same time with passwords and security questions so that we only allow those we chose to prey on or allow to prey on us access to our damaged lives. We treat God like a He's some type of spiritual hacker but we forget He wrote the program.

If your page is private, think about this - who are you hiding it from and what are you hiding. Is it worth your relationship with Christ? We hide sin only to invite sin in or we protect ourselves from sin and then send instant messages that bring about our own destruction. The internet is a tool that can be used for good or evil. I find it ironic that the very people who claim that the internet is the anti-christ are the saved people who are supposed to be on promoting Christ but have used it to do things that contribute to its sinful influence. The internet is one of our greatest tools for evangelism but the devil has twisted its true benefits and purposes because it is of this world in which he dwells. We have to take it, as we should so many things and use it for God's glory.

Now, does other word we type have to be hallelujah? Can we not get a designer bag for 50% less or shop for intimate apparel without that threat of wrath? No indeed. But we must be wise in our choices. If you are using the internet to put out negativity and sin that isn't very wise. Use it for its necessary purposes and God will get the glory, His Word guarantees it. And if you are using it for negativity and sin the Bible tells us that in Hebrews 4:13 that nothing in creation escapes God's eye and that everything is laid bare and uncovered before Him. Whether we are are flaunting our sins or hiding them with secret codes and passwords - God still sees them. Even more so the Bible says the what we put out comes back at us. Galatians 6:7-8 says don't be deceived, God is incapable of being mocked, he cannot be refuted, tricked or made a fool of - He is the truth. Whatever we sow, we will reap it, sin for sin, blessings for blessings. We must think about it before we push enter or click that mouse because the consequences are never worth the sin but the blessings are always worth the the sacrifice - every time.

Be Blessed,
Firstess
