Breaking the Spirit of Pulpit Plagiarism

"Doc, that was a powerful Word, I'm gonna have to steal that one!"
Heard it before? Think it is harmless -- THINK AGAIN!

Stealing sermons and passing them off as the result of your times of prayer, rigorous study and fasting is the same as eating a sumptuous meal at a five star restaurant, sticking your finger in the back of your throat, vomiting and placing that vomit on the finest China and then serving it to your children. Nasty huh? When you don't make and take the time to get a Fresh Word from the Lord you are doing far worse.

You can take 5 anointed preachers, give them each the same scripture, the same subject and you can even give them the same three main points upon which to build their theological construct and each of them would have something powerful, profound, outstanding but distinctly ORIGINAL to say. They may all be preaching about the Blood but their word choices, examples, life experiences and revelations would all be about the Blood but each would be used in a distinct and unique way. When you sit and listen to a tape or teaching and just copy it word for word -- example for example and expression for expression, you commit (4) tragic, terrible, heinous and yes sinful things:

1. YOU LIE ON GOD ~ You lie on God because you fail to trust Jesus - THE WORD of God to give you a WORD FROM GOD. "In the Beginning was the Word and the WORD was with God and the WORD WAS GOD." When you don't ask God (The Word) for a Word ( A RHEMA -- a revelation of Himself to impart to HIS PEOPLE), you are telling Him that He isn't great, powerful or faithful enough to speak something to you concerning Himself. He is the authority on everything -- especially Himself. You stand before His people under the guise of having a Word only to stand up before the people with something that was not placed in your heart and your Spirit and God and the Holy Spirit are grieved because if you had only asked Him for a Word, He would have faithfully, sovereignly and supernaturally given one unto you.

2. YOU LIE TO GOD ~ When you stand as the oracle of God and you stand in the sacred place and you haven't gotten a Word from Him you are lying to Him. You are lying to the Holy Ghost. You stand as a blasphemer. Yes it is just that serious.

3. YOU LIE TO THE PEOPLE OF GOD - When the House stands and poses this question, "IS THERE A WORD FROM THE LORD?" And the House in concert says, "YES THERE IS A WORD FROM THE LORD!" If you haven't gone to the Lord and if you haven't gone to the Word and if you haven't prayed and prayed for the anointing of God to deliver the Word and prayed for all those who shall sit under the sound of your voice to receive a Word, all who sit under the sound of your voice are sitting under the voice of a LIAR. You stand as one who says he or she has received a Word from God when in fact all you have is something you heard somebody else say. It would be better for you to stand and ask God and that waiting congregation to forgive you for not seeking Him for a Word than for you to stand without a Fresh Word from the Throne of God.

4. YOU LIE TO YOURSELF - If you are willing to lie to God, to the people of God and lie on God guess what? They aren't the only ones you are lying to -- if you think what you are doing isn't a big deal then you are lying to yourself and you are doing so for one of 3 reasons:

A. YOU NEVER WERE CALLED IN THE FIRST PLACE and so the only way you can get a Word is to steal one!

B. YOU WERE CALLED BUT ARE NOW WALKING IN SIN AND INSTEAD OF REPENTING AND DOING YOUR FIRST WORKS OVER AGAIN YOU ARE WALKING UNDER THE TITLE OF MINISTER BUT NO LONGER UNDER THE MANTLE OF MINISTRY.

C. YOU ARE SUFFERING FROM NO OR LOW SPIRIT ESTEEM. In other words, you have allowed the Enemy of your soul to make you think that God would never pour the powerful, the rich, the bold, the declarative or the joyous into you so you choose rather to regurgitate someone else's time of prayer than to trust God to speak to you during your own.

Today, too many spend more time searching the television, tapes, cd's, dvd's and the internet for a Word than we do in the Word of God, at the feet of God and in prayer. We keep repeating what someone else said instead of finding out what He said, is saying and shall prophetically say, decree and declare. When you sit and just say what you have heard someone else say, you miss the joy of spending time in the presence of the Lord to receive what only He can give you. You miss His Glory. You miss the honor of His sacred company. You miss His speaking revolutionary revelations into your Spirit. You miss finding out His heart. You miss getting to know Him. You miss the intimacy. You miss the excitement that comes with hearing something straight from the THRONE. You miss getting to hear from Him. You miss being touched by Him. You miss getting something hot of the press. You miss the people, you miss the moment, YOU MISS GOD!

I urge you to not just break the spirit of pulpit plagiarism but go on to DESTROY THE YOKE OF BONDAGE. God has something powerful to say to YOU -- all you have to do is make yourself available to Him and you will be surprised at all He will say to you and through if you would but seek Him. If you seek Him, He will give you the message, the revleation, the anointing, the parables, the examples, the demonstrations and most important ~ He will give you THE WORD for such a time as this. When you ask Him for a Word, you are in fact asking Him for Himself. He wants nothing more than to give you more of Himself; all He asks is that you give more of yourself, give more of you to Him so that He can give more of Him to you!

Too often we miss God for trying to say what we heard someone on some of the media outlets has had to say. Most of the time it IS a Word from the Lord but sometimes, IT IS NOT! So what you in fact do is pass the demon, pass the infection, pass the blasphemy, pass the poison, pass the sickness and pass the plague onto an unsuspecting congregation.

Search the Word of God for YOURSELF! Ask Him for a FRESH Word before you go before every congregation. The church you are preaching for on Saturday may need a Word of Rebuke while the one you are preaching for on Sunday afternoon may need a Word of Exhortation. Ask Him, "Lord what is the need in this House?" and He will speak to you.

Ministry is hard work. Preparing to go before the people is an awesome undertaking but the end result of all of that work is the most rewarding experience of all. Don't sell God, the people or YOURSELF short by just picking up something you heard along the way and giving it to the masses -- you may just end up killing thousands and worse yet, the anointing that was placed upon you when you were first called to preach will be lost -- it will be lifted from you simply because you didn't trust that anointing to lead you into the scriptures, Word, insights and revelation God divinely designed and destined for that congregation and YOU to receive.

Today we come against the Spirit of Pulpit Plagiarism. We plead the Blood of Jesus against it. We cast you out of every pulpit and out of every heart that thinks it is the way to promotion or popularity. Seek the Lord and His righteousness and ALL things shall be added unto you. ALL -- yes that means even a Rhema Word from the Lord shall be added unto you if you just seek the Lord and His righteousness. Seek His Word. Search it, pray over it, lay your face in it and wait for the Lord to speak to you. Seek His face and He will reveal Himself. Seek His voice and He will speak. Seek His presence and He will surely anoint you. Why be a fraudulent, messenger who pollutes thousands upon thousands when you can be an anointed oracle of God and set generations free?

This is so awesome, that every preacher, that`s really called of God should fall on his or her face and repent, and cry out for a fresh word! Thanks for your boldness!
