2 Samuel 20:16-19 Then cried a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, I pray you, unto Joab, Come near hither, that I may speak with thee.

And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Art thou Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.

Then she spake, saying, They were wont to speak in old time, saying, They shall surely ask counsel at Abel: and so they ended the matter.

I am one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?

Seeking to reduce or kill the rebellion of a man name Sheba, the army of Israel under Joab cast up a siege ramp against Abel Beth maacah, wreaking destruction in order to topple the wall. The people of the city seemed preoccupied when an unknown woman decided to take action. The bible simply describes her as wise. She recognized that the problem was not the city or its people, but Sheba. So she proposed a simple solution; if they delivered Sheba, the war would be over. Joab was persuaded by her argument, and she was able to convince the other citizens of the city to hand over the head of Sheba. The seige ended, the city was spared and lives were saved all because this unknown, unnamed woman was willing to apply God's wisdom and take action.
Many Christians today see problems but are not willing to get involved they sit idly by and do nothing. But God wants us to be bold and ready to speak, pray, give, share, fast, seek his face, or do whatever it takes or what ever needs to be done. Don't be complacent, afraid or timid. Ask God for wisdom and understanding, allow Him to use you in the lives of people in your church, your community, your homes and even in the world today.
Ask God to give you creative alternatives, new approaches and strategies, and fresh ideas. Don't be concerned with getting honors, or rewards, but your emphasis should be on serving Him.
