I met with some folks from Living Water last night. We kicked it off with Bible study and led into a discussion as to what they desired for their lives and how being a part of the church fit into it. Later, I asked each what they wanted for their church. They all virtually said the same thing, a pastor. Duhh...
Long story short: I laid out what all I could bring to the table. I could either be "pulpit supply" and only preach and teach there and nothing else. Or, I could provide full-fledged pastoral covering with the possibility of my church embracing them as our first church plant. It seemed to excite them. They'll meet later this month and make a decision.
Now, if they want to come under our umbrella...whew. That will be completely new to our church. Although I have talked planting churches since I've been here, we have not put a strategy in black and white as to how we would do it. I'll meet with the Grove Zone at the end of the month and we'll hash out a few details because whether or not Living Water comes under our umbrella, we still need to articulate how we are going to plant churches...around the world-going back to Ghana in April. No telling what might happen this time.
I'll holla some mo lata!!! Thanks for your prayers.
