Struggle is the answer to survive

3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 2Co 1:3-4

Here is a story I would like to share,

The Butterfly

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

The moral of the story is that struggle is good. It will make you stronger to survive in this world.

We all want the easy way out, but we can't have it that way. We will never learn to survive and trust in God to help us.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

I have seen a lot of people say they want this and they want that but not struggle to get it. Doctors probably have nice homes and nice cars by going to school for 15 yrs, a muscle man with lots of muscles for everybody lifted weights and exercised every day of the week and pastors probably have a big church and a nice car and home. The question is, are you willing to do what he did to get it? Are you willing to be faithful over a handful of not so perfect people, seek God, study his word, obey him when it doesn’t make sense, be persecuted and publicly criticized and humiliated?

Many believers have the attitude that just because they are saved and in the family of God, that now God is supposed to give them everything they ever dreamed of without any effort, or work or discipline on their part.
The fact is, it costs what it costs and it never goes on sale.

Yes God wants to prosper you and bless you, but sometimes you’re going to have to go through something.
Sometimes you have to struggle, Sometimes you have to fight.
There is something in the struggle that is necessary to becoming what God has ordained us to be.
