Recently as I was meditating I was asking God how is it that so many are professing salvation and it seems that not many are embracing the principles of Godly living. Let me disclaim here, because I realize that all of us have our personal struggles and I am not speaking about that. It just seems to me that believers are comfortable living in sin (openly - the old folks used to call it shacking), comfortable doing certain things that are contrary to the word of God and although no one wants to be called on their stuff, when these issues are confronted it is responded with "God is a loving God, or God understands, or My God is not like that" and the many other ridiculous things we hear to justify our behavior. The bible is clear we must "confess our faults and He is faithful and just to forgive us our faults" - the problem is no one seems to see going against God's word as a fault.
The second part was that many are not humbling themselves to the sanctification process. Coming from a holiness experience, we were taught that sanctificied was being set aside for the use of God and there were certain things that could not go with that. There are many issues that we struggle with but it would behoove all of us to hate what God hates in order for us to walk in the liberty wherewith Christ has set us free or we are for sure to be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. I long to be free from this world of sin but more than that I want to be free from the sin that so easily besets me.
