"THEY"

There exists an awesomely "powerful" corps of people in each of our lives, who have masterminded, manipulated and orchestrated a great deal of our lives, with and without our permission, knowledge, or "Amen!", and these individuals all go by the same "Name", no matter their position, race, gender, theology, geneaology, philosophy, origin, geographical location, past, present, or destiny, and that name is "THEY!" You know that "genre" of people who exist in our lives from birth to the tomb, that we like to give credit for most of our misfortunes, pains, sorrows, disappointments, failures, "faux pases", embarassments, arrests, shame, addictions, poor decisions, wrong choices, calamities, and unproductive seasons! I'm referring to "THEY", you know the ones who left you with "Granny", because they were "too young" to be responsible for an infant, and therefore the decision "they" made, is the reason you became incorrigible, and decided to take up "slinging rocks" for a living, as opposed, to separating yourself, personally from their choices,and deciding that "they" wouldn't become "you"! How about the "they" that took your innocence, while you were but a little girl/little boy, and traumtized you for life; totally altered the potential outcome and path for your life; "made" you prefer "men" when it should've been "women", and vice versa. Better yet, what about the "they" who redefined you when you were young and vulnerable, you know, those school teachers, or the little "scrubs", and future "hookers" on the playground, who took such sadistic pleasure in your pain, when they discovered that calling you spiteful names, guaranteed them a couple hours of "entertainment" at your expense. You see, these are the "they" whom you credited with forming your personality into the bitter,ornery, oppositional, impossible to get long with, and a whole lot of trouble to even "like", person that you allowed yourself to become! Then there's the "they" back on the home front, who treated you very unkindly, and notably 'different" from the "lighter", "slimmer", "smarter", "straighter hair, longer hair, curlier hair, having siblings you grew up with. Now, these are "they" who "made" you decide to become a bully, hate, resent, and be on a mission to make everybody else's life miserable, everytime you felt the pain of those memories, inflicted upon you by "they"! Fast forward to more recent times, and let's take a look at former "boyfriends, "boos", "old ladies", husbands, wives, "chicks', or whatever your side of the city, or the railroad track, or neck of the woods identified "significant others" as! These "theys" deserve categories all by them selves, so we'll give them their "props" by noting them as "Mr. or "Miss" "they"! What about the "Mr." "they" who promised you "heavenly blessings", and gave you "earthly hell", or the one who forgot his address, on the regular, after being out all night "with the boys", who seemed to have a liking for "plum pink shimmer" lipstick", and "White Diamonds" eau de parfeum, or the one who wasn't content until he left a fresh "embedment code", with his knucles, on some part of your body? Then there's the "Miss They", who spread it like butter, to "whosoever will", while you were out trying to earn the only "bread" she should've been "spreading it" on, or the one you discovered 9 years into the union, really had a greater affinity or desire for the "like precious flesh" of her "girlfriend", Laqqueesha", than she did for you? These particular "theys" make the "Hall of Fame" because these are the ones who make the most definitive impact on the course, pattern and utter outcome of your life, IF YOU LET THEM! These are the "they" who get to earn the high credit for your seeking anesthesia or comfort in a half gallon of "Southern Comfort" or as many pitchers of "margaritas", or caraffes of "merlot" that you could swallow, or the catylyst for your 10 year "smoke orgy", fueled by"philly blunts and ganji", or maybe your "theys" compelled you to just be found wherever some semi-naked female, or what looked like one, was slithering around a greasy "pole, and "dropping it like it's on fire!" Perhaps, your "they" helped form the idea in your mind "if you can't "beat em", join em", and set you off on their same pattern of perversion and wreckless living, bedding as many "ladies" as you could coerce into believing the "okey doke", pimpimg them for their money, and leaving a trail of women with injured souls, who would one day refer to YOU as their "THEY", as they looked back on their personal anguish, and destruction. The most impressionable, and remarkable "theys" of them all, are not the former family and friends contributors, but rather the ones who make the "Believer's Hall of Wonders" and these are those "sanctified, foot-stomping, Bible toting,Scripture quoting, "Holy Ghost" filled "theys" over at one of those "Mt.s", "tabernacles, temples, or "Family Worship Centers"! Now, these "theys" are in a "Division" all by themselves, because these are "they who God set in position as "rescuers","havens","clinics", Help stations, only to be no more than an extension of "more of the same" to these souls, who are already running for safety, deliverance, and for their lives. Instead they encounter a new species of "theys", who have the potential to really traumatize and "cripple" them, because they come to them vulnerable, broken, wounded ,and expectant , but not expecting the criticism, judgement, self rightousness, rejection,slander and persecution that "they" heap upon them! These are the "theys" who snub the unrightous, the ones who're still smelling of a little "jack daniels", or have the fragrance of "weed" clinging to their clothes, still smelling of strange "men/women", still "cussing it up and fussing it up", still in mini skirts, G-strings, and halters, backwards baseball caps and Gang" paraphenalia: still angry and belligerent, afraid and defensive; still distrustful and suspicious; still lashing out and uncooperative, because of all the abuse, drama, and mayhem, the former "theys" have brought them through. Now these "theys" are YOUR assignment, now that God has made a way of escape for you to be liberated from your past and the residue of your "theys", and how you handle them in their desperation and bruised condition, will impact their testimony as well as yours. The really "GOOD NEWS" is that there is a "THEY" called the "ELOHIM", and the "FATHER, THE SON,AND THE HOLY GHOST"! There is a "THEY",who in their igNorance, BUT BY DIVINE PROVIDENCE ", led Him from judgement hall to judgement hall, beat Him all night long, hung Him high, and stretched Him wide" so that "WE" might have a right to the Tree of Life! There is a "THEY" that has been assigned to us, as an angelic host, having been given charge over us, to bear us up, lest we dash our feet upon a stone!"! There is a "THEY" who are forever behind us, called "GOODNESS and MERCY!" There is a "THEY" that go before us as a "Consuming Fire", and a "THEY" who make up the "so great a cloud of witnesses"! There is a"THEY" who've been assigned to do great exploits, and advance the kingdom of God! There's still a "THEY" willing to go through, and endure hardness as good soldiers,while still lifting up holy hands without wrath or doubting! There yet remains a "THEY", who believe God and take Him at His Word,being persuaded that It is forever settled in heaven, and that it's "yea, and amen"! There's still a "THEY" who humbly bow down to Him, in fear and in trembling, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh! Thank God for the "theys" of yesterday, but "Praise God" for the "theys" of right now and your expected end! This earth would cease to turn, and your journey would be suspended if there were no "theys', and while you're rejoicing, take all that POWER back, that the "THEYS" of the past have illegally assumed, and decide that "THEY" will never again, impact your todays or tomorrows!

The sad things is that "they" are all over the place. Even sadder are the "theys" inside the Church. "They" who allow the enemy to used them to hinder another brother or sister in Christ, "They" who say no, because the Lord could'nt have told you that, because He did'nt tell me." "They" never seem to travel alone, "they" always seem to be accompanied by a lot of " I's ". What a mighty word, "they' never saw this coming !
