Greetings in the name of our Lord, peace be unto you. Charles Dickens said “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” It seems that this statement is a conflict of terminology. An oxy moron if you would. This sounds like where many of us are in our lives right now. But let me encourage you to keep the faith and to continue to move forward. At a time when so many things are happening in our lives, both good and bad at the same time, there are two points I’d like to make. First, “the just shall live by faith” (Heb. 10:38) and not by sight, and secondly remain focused on the word spoken over us.
Your senses almost always come into conflict with your faith. What you see and what you hear will pull you away from what he said, so you must remain focused on the word spoken over you. In Luke 1:28 the angel tells Mary, “thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.” and Luke 1:25 says, “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”

One would think that being chosen to bear the son of God should have been the happiest time of Mary’s life. But at the same time her husband was about to put her away. The angle of the Lord had to intervene and tell Joseph that the child which Mary carried was conceived of the Holy Ghost. Also, she was in a situation that no one could relate to. God had to send her to her cousin Elisabeth to get encouragement. Isn’t it wonderful that God always has someone to speak into your spirit at the right time.

Waiting for what God has spoken concerning you to be manifested, can seem like the loneliest time of our lives. But feeling alone does not mean that you are alone. God’s silence does not mean abandonment. You will never get to the best of times without going through the worst of times, and it takes a miracle to cause you to bring forth that which was conceived in you by the Holy Ghost. When you are feeling the greatest pain of your life, in the spirit that means you are giving birth to a new life and a new dimension.

A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.” (John 16:21) In this verse, God is saying that your hour has come, it is now time for your anguish, tribulation and labor to end. The blessing is that the joy you will experience after the pain will not compare the glory that will be revealed. The trials that your going through will not last and everything God said will come to pass. Be encouraged and cast down all fear, press through the pain for your victory is near.
