IT IS INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT NOT EVERYONE IS AWARE THAT THERE ARE DISTINCTIVE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PRAISE AND WORSHIP, AND THERE ALWAYS HAS BEEN. ALL WORSHIP IS PRAISE, BUT NOT ALL PRAISE IS WORSHIP. ALL OF CREATION PRAISES GOD BY IT'S VERY EXISTENCE, BUT MAN WAS DESIGNED, FASHIONED AND COMMANDED TO WORSHIP GOD. ALL OF MANKIND CAN PRAISE, BUT THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE CAREFULLY SCANNING THE EARTH FOR THOSE WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO BE WORSHIPPERS. PRAISE USUALLY UNFOLDS IN THE REALM OF "I" OF "ME" (He gave ME, He blessed ME, He saved ME), where as worship is far more personal and intimate, and it is carried out in the realm of YOU...YOU ARE EXCELLENT IN ALL THY WAYS,YOU ARE MAJESTIC,YOU ARE MARVELOUS, YOU ARE MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOLD,YOU ARE WORTHY OF ALL HONOR,YOU ARE THE ONLY WISE GOD, HOLY, AND YOU ARE DESIRABLE, AWESOME, A GREAT KING, ETC.!!! Praise can be casually rendered, even by a drunk, or a child who's mocking what he hears, but Worship is a posture, a lifestyle, and a reverential tender act of MINISTERING to the Lord. Worship is by invitation, and praise is often by imitation or rote. Praise is often a carnal exercise of the emotions, and one can leave from a lively, stirring praise service, and still curse the usher, give the "neck roll" to the sister you've been upset with for years, and act out violent road rage coming out of the church parking lot, but not so with Worship. Worhsip is a progressive journey that may begin with praise, and as one considers how great God's mercies and love towards us are (outer court), conviction and self examination begins, and we move on to the "inner courts" where we view ourselves in the reflecftion of the blood of the Lamb and our focus is tgranserred from ourselves, who has offended us and the bills we can't pay, to the awareness that Christ, our Paraclete and Source is near. We praise corporately, but we Worship individually, spirit to spirit, face to face, soul to soul, and all things around us recede into the earthly dimension, as we spiritually ascend into the heavenly realm of God's glory, and we are transfixed, in awe, of our Savior and Lord. It is here that we are impregnated, purged, renewed, healed, delivered, and our cup is refiled with thefruit of His spirit, so when we exit our
worship experience, we are transformed, and our minds are renewed, and we are eager to love our enemies, to forgive, and to share the joy of the Lord. We have afffirming, tangible evidnce when we have entered into the Holy of Holies and tabernacled with God, because men don;t see us , they see the glory of the Lord upon us.
