LOVING OUR GLOBAL NEIGHBORS

Most of us think about the family or persons living next to, above or below us when we think of our neighbors. The Bible however has always maintained a global perspective of one's neighbor and strangers alike. The Jewish people were instructed to treat strangers well due to the fact that they had been strangers in Egypt. The neighborliness aspect of Christianity is of daunting importance. In an age where mankind, specifically in the United States, is becoming more socially detached; we must place emphasis on the inportance of treating both our immediate and global neighbors with the utmost integrity. From offering our God's salvation plan to the unsaved to simply helping where necessary, the Christian has a mandate to love all of our neighbors. Once the definition of a neighbor according to Our God is understood, the task at hand for world evangelism becomes even more clear. We are to win the lost, not subjugate or oppress them. We are to win them by our acts of kindness, displays of gratitude, and adherence to what we believe to be right. We are to win them by LOVING them!
