You can make many plans,
but the Lord's purpose will prevail.
Proverbs 19:21 NLT

Planning is a wise thing to do. If we fail to plan then in actuality we plan to fail. God is a god of order and everything has a set time and purpose. He requires of us to look further down the road than where we are now. Some are doing nothing claiming to be waiting on the return of the Lord. But these are called wicked servants that do nothing except serve themselves, their appetite and making things difficult for others that are working. But we are not of these.
Being prepared was to the benefit of the five wise bridesmaids. Wisdom caused them to anticipate the possibility of a delayed arrival of the bridegroom. The foolish or unwise bridesmaids being complacent and non-anticipatory in their attitude; had only made plans for an early arrival of the bridegroom. They did not consider or anticipate all of the "what if's."
Sometimes with the best made plans built on sound wisdom in anticipation of everything that could possibly happen; God shifts everything. Then the best plan of action takes a back seat to the prevailing purpose and will of the Almighty.
When the shift takes place, and it will, be willing to yield to the will of the Lord. It will make the transition easier. Don't allow anger and frustration to creep in because all of the time, hard work and planning appear to have come to nothing. In the end, except the Lord build the house, the laborers labor in vain and it is only what we do for Christ that will matter or last.
Get ready and be willing to give up the life you love for the will and purpose of God. Your latter end shall be greater and blessed. Amen!
