Are You Submitted To God And The Authorities God Has Ordained In Your Life?

Are You Submitted To God And The Authorities God Has Ordained?
James 4:6-7: But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jesus was able to live His life in 100 percent obedience to God and win the ultimate victory over Satan because of another very important strategy. He was TOTALLY SUBMITTED to God!
So often we have quoted only the last part of this verse, “Resist the devil and he will flee from you,” and have over looked the real key to power. We must first be willing to humble ourselves to God, before we can resist and the devil will flee from us.
Satan has run over a lot of Christians today because they have not submitted themselves to God. There is a real need in the Church for Christians to understand what submission really means. Most Christians do not have the faintest idea what it means to be submitted to God, through obedience to the structure of the Church, and to the place God has put them in their families. As a result, they have walked in rebellion against God and have lived defeated lives.
Anytime a Christian fails to submit to God and follow his own self-will, it is rebellion and it is a sin: “For rebellion is the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry” (1Samuel 15:23).
There are two words which help us to understand what submission means. The word “subjection” is translated from the Greek word “hupotasso”, “which is primarily a military term meaning” to rank under; to subject oneself; to obey; to be subject to.” In the army, men who are newly enlisted are privates and are ranked under the sergeant. They are required to be subject to and obey their sergeant. In large corporations there are employees who are subject to department supervisors and are required to submit to the authority of the department supervisor. In government, in Churches and in every organization there is a line of authority to which we must submit ourselves.
The word “submit” means “to yield oneself to the authority or will of another.” Before Jesus could become obedient to God’s will it was necessary for Him to humble and SUBMIT Himself to God.
Jesus was equal with God. He possessed the same glory, the same power and the same authority. He emptied Himself of that glory, power and authority and willingly submitted – yielded Himself – to the authority and will of God.
God is a God of purpose, plan, design and objectivity. Before the foundations of the earth, God knew that man would rebel and sin against Him. To bring men back into fellowship with Him and bring them into a new position as His “sons” He planned to send Jesus to give His life as a sacrifice for man’s sins. He planned for Jesus to suffer and die on the cross.
Jesus submitted, Yielded Himself to God’s will. He did not question why it was necessary for Him to suffer and die. He did not offer an alternate solution or follow His own will. He submitted Himself to God’s will. He yielded His own will and was subject to God’s authority.
Jesus’ life was a life of submission to His Father. As God revealed His will to Him Jesus submitted and obeyed. It was this powerful ingredient in His life that enabled Him to walk in 100 percent obedience to God. Although He was the son of God, Jesus learned obedience. He not only submitted Himself to God, but He also submitted Himself to the authority God placed over Him.
ARE YOU DOING THE SAME AS JESUS?
