Here we are now in the year of 2009, a new time and a new age. Gone are the days were children honored their parents, gone are the days where husband and wives stayed together for the children and the charge that God put on them, to be together through the good times as well as the bad . Gone are the times where men open doors for the women, children respected their elders, men and women respected each other; A time where family members stayed in touch and met at grandmothers house on Sundays. Those were the days where neighbors looked out for each other and watch over their children. Back in those day, people respected each other, they respected the law and had fear of our Father in heaven. Even though I am one of the people that celebrate our history of electing the first black President. I often think about the times ,when things were simple and people respected each other. Back then marriage was something everyone respected and people stayed together for life. Today people treat marriage like a drive through, one day they are married the next they are divorced , then remarried again. Back then children honored their parents and today children disrespect their parents and divorce them too. People used to respect each other back in the day and now it seems that no one respects each other privacy, values or space.

Yes we all live in new time and a new age, where clothes we wear are different, the cars we drive, the way we raise our children , the way we treat our spouses, neighbors and friends. But one thing remains the same through it all and that's God. God will always be God and will not change his ways , just because we have changed ours. Gods rules remain, the same and even if we want to make up our own rules, change our values and loose respect for ourselves. God will always command respect, will always be feared and when in need will always be there for us, as he has been ,then, now and in the future. As much as we rejoice change and need change Gods way will always remain the same. Through time, as we change, there will always be winters, summers and autumns. There always will be season and there is nothing man can do to change that. There always will be ups and downs, people will fail and some may succeed, but through it all God will remain the same. As we live in a world of change we all should remember some of the old sayings that our parents used to say like; If its not broken do not fix it; Always respect your elders; You are never too old to learn something new; There is only one man or one woman in this house and when you feel that you are grown enough to be a man or a woman, then its time for you to leave; Fear no man and only fear God. These are just some of the things my parents used to say when I was a child and as an adult I realize how wise they were back in the day.

Have a blessed weekend,

Charles

Roman 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
