"Black Robes" and "Roman Clerical Collars"? Why Do You Ministers Wear Them?

Col.2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the *tradition of men*, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

~~~~
There is no Biblical basis for a "minister" to wear garments different from the church membership. This custom is based upon "tradition of men" handed down from the Roman Catholic Church, which is forbidden in Col. 2:8.
The Roman Catholic Priest Collar And The Uniform of Rome's Sons
Here is a simple but accurate history of Rome's uniform and the neck adornment:
Origin: "Originally," says the Reverend Henry McCloud in his book Clerical Dress and Insignia of the Roman Catholic Church, the Roman collar "was nothing else than the shirt collar turned down over the cleric's everyday common dress in compliance with a fashion that began toward the end of the sixteenth century. For when the laity began to turn down their collars, the clergy also took up the mode."
... But that's only half the story. The clergy also adopted the fad of lining their collars with fancy lace and needlework, which made them more beautiful but also more difficult to clean. So a third custom arose: covering the collar with a changeable sleeve of white linen to protect it from dirt. The modest-minded Pope Urban VIII banned the use of lace in 1624 ... but he didn't ban the protective sleeve. "Thus," McCloud says, "the narrow band of white linen used to protect the collar in the course of a few centuries became what is known today as the Roman collar."
In his essay on Why A Priest Should Wear His Roman collar, Charles M. Mangan states: "The Roman collar makes the priest available for the Sacraments (baptism, confirmation, eucharist, holy orders, matrimony, penance), especially Confession and the Anointing of the Sick (last rites), and for crisis situations."
Readers:
There is no Biblical authority for the "Roman Catholic "Clergy Collar". Since it is not in the Bible, did you ever wonder WHO IS THE AUTHORITY FOR THESE GARMENTS?
It is WHITE ROBES/GARMENTS that are the attire of the angels and the saints, why do you wear the "Black or any color Robes" of the Roman Catholic Church.
John.20
[12] And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
Acts.1
[10] And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Rev.3
[4] Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
[5] He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Rev.4
[4] And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
Rev.7
[13] And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
~~~~~~~~

You who wear these garments are violating the spirit of what our Messiah was dealing with when HE forbade HIS disciples from wearing garments or things on their garments to be "seen of men":

Matt. 23:5 -
But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

The Scripture never enjoined special garments for Christian Pastors, (we are ALL to be a "priesthood" of believers, with only ONE HIGH PRIEST, so why then do you wear the black robes and clerical collars???

Pastor Bell:
Do you agree with our Creator in Jeremiah 10 which His statement you will find below:

Jeremiah 10

1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen,

Do you think He has a tolerance level for any admixture of the Holy and the Profane, in His "pastors" or His people?
