Conquer Your Demons (and the next generation won't have to!)

Exodus 20:5 (The Message)

4-6 No carved gods of any size, shape, or form of anything whatever, whether of things that fly or walk or swim. Don't bow down to them and don't serve them because I am God, your God, and I'm a most jealous God, punishing the children for any sins their parents pass on to them to the third, and yes, even to the fourth generation of those who hate me. But I'm unswervingly loyal to the thousands who love me and keep my commandments.

I'm not a regular blogger but this thought keeps coming to mind. Discern your shortcomings. Then kill that demon. The victory is already ours. I fall short in areas and the reality is if I don't conquer them, then my daughter will be faced with the same demons. PARENTS please wake up! Daily I hear my neighbors frustrated, cursing their 2 and 3 year old children, these are the same parents whose parents cursed them at such an early age. DO YOU SEE THE PATTERN? It's right here in the Word of God.

About 10 years ago I pleaded with a family member to stop playing around and conquer his demons. You know what he told me (lol), why don't I conquer my own and then come talk to him. This was not the response I was looking for. This man was my father, a back slidden preacher, content to be drunken and whorish. People, his fate is not my fate. Two generations later, my son is being tested with the very same issues. My brother won't face them and my father....well I'll keep it respectful by not commenting.

It is imperative that you be the one to stop generational curses and begin generational blessings in your family. I am blessed to have conquered co-dependency and whorism (if that's such a word). I stay before God for many issues and don't want to see another generation spending a lifetime trying to figure out why they cannot get ahead. Look over your family history, bind up what needs to be bound up and loose what needs to be loosed. God watches over His word to perform it, it will surely come to pass....

God Bless You,
