Hebrews 6:17-18} Accordingly God also, in His desire to show more convincingly and beyond doubt to those who were to inherit the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose and plan, intervened (mediated) with an oath. This was so that, by two unchangeable things (His promise and His oath) in which it is impossible for God to ever to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled (to Him) for refuge might have mighty indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us and set before us.

Today's Scripture shows us very clearly that got is not a man that He should lie, He will never, ever deceive us, lie to us, break His oath or promise to us!! He has a plan for each and every one of us and it will come to pass come hell or high water. He will see to it! Talk about a promise of victory! That alone should cause us to be encouraged beyond this world's encouragement! God's Word is not false as the world would love to have us think. More and more, especially in this season, we should develop the spirit of David and encourage ourselves in the Lord through His Word, through praise and worship and through prayer. As we know the season of Christmas for some in this world can be a very discouraging one. But for those of us who know Christ intimately and are in Him this should be a time of great joy!

Why is it so important for us to encourage ourselves in the Lord? Because the enemy, Satan, will do everything in his power to discourage us in this time and take our eyes of the true meaning of Christmas. That's what is going on in the world. They put their focus so much on their problems that they don't realize there is an Answer and a Solution to every single one....His name is Jesus. There is great power in that name! Many of us, as Christians, do this also! We need to hit discouragement with encouragement. When we get ourselves filled up with God's word, His presence, and everything that He has for us we will explode with encouragement to those around us who have none. That is why we are here church, to encourage others and let them know there is hope!

We need to start looking at what a blessed generation we are and give God thanks for taking such good care of us. Many in this world are starving and without many things. How can I speak of encouragment in a time where we are in such dire need in many areas of our lives? Because over and over again I have seen God's Word work in my life and on my behalf. I continue to stand on His word and believe He will move on my behalf. That's the key! UnshakeableTrust! The devil gets us so focused on our problems that we lose sight of our God. We need to stop hiding our lights under a bushel and allow God to use us in magnificent ways not only in this season but in the days to come. We need to build ourselves up in Him so we can build others up. It's the greatest way I know of to defeat the enemy at every turn. Refuse to give in to hopeless and discouragement and lift our hands and voices in praise to our God. Amen? Amen!

I know in my spirit that God wants to do some glorious things this Christmas. He can do it on His own but He desires to use each one of us. Let's open our hearts this season and every day we are here and allow God to use us in any way He desires. As most of you know I'm not very rich or even comfortable when it comes to finances. But every year God makes a way for me to bless someone. I open my home to feed people and those who come to my home get to take a Christmas gift under the tree. My husband and I used to do that together, now I continue this tradition on my own since he has gone to be with the Lord. God has put it in my heart to do this and He always supplies what I need. People give me donations of gifts and money and nothing gives me greater pleasure than to give to someone and put a smile on their face and food in their tummies. Imagine if all of us reached out in some way like this not only at Christmas but throughout the year?

We are here to help one another and to encourage one another. It's time to take our eyes off our own troubles and help someone else through theirs. I can think of no better way to not only touch someone but we will get blessed in the long run. We cannot outgive the Giver. When we are generous in our giving, God will be very generous in His giving. Remember, too, to be very sensitive to God's voice and the leading of His Spirit. God is about to do something very glorious and I don't know about you but I want to be a part of it. Also remember to do everything out of a pure heart. Let your motivation always be love. That is the core of God's personality and it should be ours. Let us develop love, respect and compassion for one another. The world has lost these traits but we can put them back in. Look at the domino effect the disciples had when they went to preach to all the world. Imagine the domino effect we would have by spreading the love and generosity of God to all we come in contact with. That would certainly give the devil a royal black eye. Whatever God puts on your heart to do, don't procrastinate, just do it. You will be blessed beyond what you can even imagine. Don't look to get, look to give! God bless you. I love you, but Jesus loves you so much more than I ever could.
