Forgive or not to Forgive what is the answer?
'This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.' Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father." When their message came to him, Joseph wept. Genesis 50:17
God knows the future of our lives, and is putting different kinds of directions in our path to guide us the right direction he wants us to go.
But we also have the free will to do what we want to do if it is with God or not with God. When we decide to go our way with out God to touch our lives, we will end up going through bad situations of wondering what happened, and how did I get into this situation. God lets things happens to us if it is to make us realize what we have done was wrong, and how to grow from our mistakes, yes we can grow from our mistakes by learning not to do that same wrongful thing again, and pray for God to guide us on how to handle certain situations in our lives.
Now most of you all know the story of joseph how he was thrown into a pit, sold into slavery,thrown into prison, and by all of this he has gone through that was started by his jealous brothers, he still forgave them and if he has not gone through all of that by his brothers first by throwing him into a pit and then selling him into slavery, he would have never became Governor of Egypt, and his brothers coming to him for help.
Now Joseph was the governor of the land, the one who sold grain to all its people. So when Joseph's brothers arrived, they bowed down to him with their faces to the ground. Genesis 42:6
God already knew joseph's future, but if joseph would have done anything else different without staying humble to God,and gone a different direction that might have lead him to grave consequences for himself, But he stayed strong in the Lord and what ever he went through the Lord was with him.
the LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. Genesis 39:21
Just know that God is with you and to stay strong in God's standards and forgive those that has treated you wrong. Joseph had to forgive his brothers because it was a test of knowing if he has grown from all the trials of life has made him to be the kind of man that God wanted him to be. God is watching us every day to see what we are going to do with him or without him but we must do the right thing of God. We should know the right things of God by staying prayed up in prayer and reading our bible.
God wants us to love all that done us wrong by cheating on us, telling wrongful stories on us, and hurting us in all other different kinds of ways that is wrong in the eyes of God.
Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,' and 'love your neighbor as yourself.' " Matthew 19:19
Prayer: Father, I thank you that there is always forgiveness with you. I know that when I confess my sins to you, you are always faithful and just to forgive me of my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Help me to walk in forgiveness, Lord, and to forgive others as you have forgiven me. I receive your forgiveness, and I determined to forgive others. I will walk in love, father, because I know it is the bond of perfection. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
