From Purpose to Destiny (A Blog Post for Women)

"And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not." Ruth 2:16 (KJV)

Webster’s New World Dictionary defines purpose as, “Something one intends to get or do; an intended aim.” When something is done on purpose, it is done with intent. It does not haphazardly come into being. When God created you, woman of purpose, He intended to make you. It was not by way of a big bang that you came into being. Neither did you come into being by accident. No! God created you WITH purpose, FOR purpose, and ON purpose. He purposed you for divine destiny.

Destiny is something that is settled, assigned, designated or dedicated in ADVANCE. Woman of God, please understand me when I tell you that God settled in His mind your very existence. He assigned you a place of life, even before you were formed in the womb of the mother who birthed you. In the mind of God, you were dedicated to become who you are in Him….and He did it before you were ever conceived. Hallelujah! Yes. You were created on purpose for Divine Destiny.

In the story of Ruth, God used a man named, “Boaz” to have his servants release “handfuls of purpose for her” to be discovered as she went about her daily chores of gleaning in the fields. This is prophetic for you! As you go about the things you know that God has assigned for your life, His purpose for your life will be revealed. A handful at a time, precept upon precept and line upon line, the purpose of God will unfold for your life. With each day, as you are faithful, to what God has revealed in His Word, and in prayer or during your intimate times of worship, you will begin to understand the purpose and plan of God.

In the NIV, Jeremiah 29:11 says, “I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord; plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future.” However, the KJV reads this same verse as, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” God wants you to discover and walk in His prophetic destiny for your life. He wants you to understand that what He has planned for you, even the very purpose for which He made you is for the ultimate destiny assigned to your life. God’s plans for you are not to harm you. Rather, His plans are to give you a hope and a future. His plan is for you to discover the purpose for which He made you, and for that same purpose to lead you to divinely appointed destiny. His plans are to give you an expected end. So, live in the expectancy of God, woman of purpose!

The Lord bless you richly!
