Full Attention To The Holy Spirit And The Word

Psalms 112:1,7 says, “Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in His commandments. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.” To fear the Lord is to reverence Him – to stand in awe of Him. To fear the Lord is to worship Him with your spirit and with His Word.

Our spirits are the seed bed for His Word. Mark 4:28 says, “For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear”. His Word in our spirit brings forth fruit of itself. His Word cultivated within our spirit has the power within itself to produce exactly what it is saying. His Word and our spirit indwelt by the Holy Spirit are in unison one with the other.

Psalms 37:4 says, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart”. The desires of our heart are the inner images of our spirit. We delight ourselves in the Lord as we worship, praise, pray, and prophesy in other tongues and as we speak forth His Words out of our mouth and as we get still and quiet before the Holy Ghost waiting for Him to speak in our spirits. Stillness, quietness, and expectant waiting before God is commanded us in Psalms 46:10 which says, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the Earth.”

Jesus said in John 6:63, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”. Proverbs 4:20-23 says, “My son, attend to My words; incline thine ear unto My sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life”. Jesus said in John 8:51, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep My saying, he shall never see death”. To attend to His Words is to give our undivided attention to them resolving in our spirit to obey them. To incline our ears to His sayings is to expect to hear and know them. Choosing not to let His sayings depart from our eyes means we are totally focused and positioned on His sayings. Keeping His Words and sayings in the midst of our hearts means they’re steadfastly fixed and settled in our spirits.
