Full of grace and truth: Bible study on John 1:14-18

For too long antinomianism has colored/influenced the interpretation of key Biblical verses.

Our loving Creator has shown mankind grace throughout the First Testament from the Garden of Eden, Noah, Israel, king David etc., etc. until Messiah's birth. Isn't it peculiar that we have a NT verse that makes it appear that "Grace" began with the Messiah? Do people not know that "Gracious" is one of the names/characteristics of YHWH in Ex. 34:6

" And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and *gracious*, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and *truth*"

Does the Son have more "grace and truth" than the Mighty one who Moses met on the Mountain? I suggest to you that Messiah was not greater than the "Grace and truth" that was first presented to Moses on the Mountain, but as indicated by John, He was now "Grace and Truth" manifested in the flesh.

The following article goes in depth to explain how this text of John 1:14 - 18, has been seriously mistranslated with the word "but" being added to make it appear as though there was no grace for mankind prior to Messiah's coming to earth:
