God's protection just like an air bag

Psalms 23:1-6 ERV

The Lord is my shepherd.
I will always have everything I need.
He gives me green pastures to lie in.
He leads me by calm pools of water.
He restores my strength.
He leads me on right paths
to show that he is good.
Even if I walk through a valley as dark as the grave,
I will not be afraid of any danger, because you are with me.
Your rod and staff
comfort me.
You prepared a meal for me in front of my enemies.
You welcomed me as an honored guest.
My cup is full and spilling over.
Your goodness and mercy will be with me all my life,
and I will live in the
Lord’s house a long, long time.

There have been times as a young child growing in third ward with my grand-mother and great-grand mother been scared to go outside to play hearing the gun shots and sirens every other day.

My grand parents would tell me that God is with me and they are also by my side and not to worry about been scared. I would ask them why they are used to not been scared and their reply was “ yes we are scared some times but we get into our bible to know that only God will protect us. We must stay prayed up all the time and believe in him to protect us.”

Well my thinking at 5 years was a scared little boy growing up with nothing but peace and love in our household.

Now by me been in my 50's of age, I have grown more in the word of God to know he is with us all the time, no matter how scared you are of any situation you might go through but know that our heavenly father is with us. Yes we might go through some times of hardship but it is mostly for a reason to get us through our future by been stronger or getting us out of something God know it is not right for us.

So do not worry about your situation or the future, our father is got every thing under control.

David says, "Be thankful, because in the face of death the Good Shepherd protects us from evil."

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil." (Psalm 23:4) The fear of death can really disturb us.

Hebrews 2:15 speaks of people who "all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death."

The Bible clearly states that death is Satan’s weapon, the last enemy to be defeated. But David said, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil." Why? Because "you are with me."

I’m convinced that when we get scared or worried about a certain situation that we can not handle, we need not fear, for our Savior is with us. Whether we brush the edge of the valley of death or actually walk through it, He promises, "I’ll be there with you."

B. In fact, David goes on to say, "Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." (Psalm 23:5)

Not only is that a promise of peace & protection while we are alive, it is also a promise that at the moment Satan is doing his worst to you in death, God is preparing a welcoming feast for you in Heaven! What a picture of victory & joy!

Think of your air bags in your vehicle to protect you from been hurt or killed while in an accident. God is your air bag surrounding you when trouble comes your way. He got your front, back, right side and left side. Now that is a great protection.

So when you pause to think about what to be thankful for, thank God that in the face of death the Good Shepherd promises protection from evil.

In my 50's now from a 5 year old scared little boy, God has blessed me with his word for me and you. May we all be blessed in the name of Jesus !
