The bible reminds us not to think of ourselves more highly than we should. It also reminds us to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. It is sad, very sad... that men and women who have been called to carry, to treasure, to declare the most awesome thing on earth, the word of God, have somehow exalted themselves above the word, above those who they are called to serve and sometimes above God.

It saddens me when I travel and see men and women of God with their crew...LOL, entourage of 10, 15, 20 or more men and women following them and worshipping them as if they were God. I understand the need for a few, 2-4 people maybe around you and being attentive to your needs, but sometimes it is ridiculous. Yes, there are security concerns sometimes, yes there are some needs that the woman or man of God might need immediate attention, I understand that..but!

We must take a note from presidents and world leaders. Unless they are in immediate or potential danger, you very rarely realize that secret and service agents are around , but you better believe if you blow your nose wrong, the presence of these security teams would be on you like white on rice.

I love the spirit of Bishop Gary Hawkins. The man has a ministry of perhaps, 15-20k membership in 3 churches but he is so down to earth, a true people person. He still drives to the old neighborhood chicken shack, not to busy unless he has some important meeting or task to do after a service to stop and talk to you, pray with you, or just laugh with you. When did we become so important that we are untouchable? Yes, we must use some wisdom but not at the expense of lifting ourselves higher than we should.

We are called to be servants but to many church leaders do not serve but want to be served. We must remember that the least, the servant, the last will be exalted. God is talking about our heart condition and real service done to his glory from a true heart.

What do you think?

1. Think only about yourself.

2. Talk only about yourself.

8. You be jealous and sensitive of others.

9. You never forgive others.

10. Trust nobody but yourself.

11. You insist on consideration and respect by others.

12. You demand agreement with your own views.

13. Sulk if people are not grateful to you.

To Draw Near to God, We Must Be Teachable (Ps. 25:9).
A. God wants people who are as humble as children (Mat. 18:1-4; cf. 1 Jn 3:1).
1. Laying down our selfish ambitions and pride, we must take on the lowly
position of a child and have the deepest humility in approaching the Lord.
2. Children are, to a great extent, teachable and humble.
3. In humility, we are to allow God to teach us and mold us into what He
wants us to be and as a result we will be greatly blessed (1 Pet. 5:6).
B. The only way to have fellowship with God is to humble ourselves to the
teachings of God (John 6:44-45; cf. 2 Tim. 3:16-17).
1. This is the way He draws us to Him, by the power of God’s word.
2. We listen attentively so we may learn from God what we must do to
come to God, to have a relationship with Him, to please Him.
C. God has made His word understandable (Eph. 3:3-5), it is up to each person to
open his heart to the Scriptures (Luke 8:15; cf. Mat. 13:14-16).
1. Stubbornness and pride keeps truth out, yet a humble heart holds fast to
the truth and benefits spiritually as a result (James 1:21)
II. Our Attitude toward the Scriptures is Our Attitude toward God.
A. We don’t truly respect the Lord, if we do not do what He says (Luke 6:46; cf.
Mat. 7:21-23).
1. Many people today pay “lip service” to God, claim to believe that Jesus
is Lord, but do not obey His word.
2. People who shout “Jesus is Lord” from the rooftops, but ignore or
neglect the teachings of Scripture, do not truly respect Him.
B. True respect for God is demonstrated by respect for His Book – The Bible.
1. If we really believe the Bible to be the word of God, we will take it
seriously in our lives (1 Thes. 2:13).
2. There is no other book on earth that we can humble ourselves to totally
and completely than the Bible.
III. Humble Yourself to the Wisdom of God.
A. We cannot be taught by God if we are proud and presume to know beforehand
the will of God (Isa. 5:20-21; cf. Prov 3:7; 12:15; 26:12).
1. Many people try to determine for themselves what God’s will is without
Bible study and as a result they tell God what they think is good and evil!
2. God does not think the same way as we do! (Isa. 55:8-9)
3. The wisdom of God is superior to man’s wisdom (1 Cor. 1:18-25).
B. To be spiritually complete, we must humble ourselves to be examined by the WORD OF GOD

Well, I see this blob is hot hot hot .... all Iam going to say that the elect of God needs to become more numble and stop letting their members put them on a pedestral. We need to know that these Pastors are human and will make mistakes . The members needs to stop treating the Man or Woman of God like idols. The Word tells us in Ex20:5 "For Iam a jealous God , thou shalt have no other gods before me " . That's idolatry yall . I'm OUT ....GBU all

We have to be mindful that we have a CHARGE on our life that should not have been given by man but he who created man..So I was delivered from public Opinion,,I am at a point of my life that I want to perform REAL MINISTRY,,wich means instead of preaching a sermon I want to PERFORM one!! why is it when the people are in need then the ministry SHIFTS to get it your self or give them the word,,this is the verse i keep hearing Preachers use SILVER AND GOLD I HAVE NOT ,,BUT WHAT I HAVE I GIVE UNTO THEE,,GET UP AND WALK,.........Ok this is what Jesus done he gave the bread and the fish to 5000 AFTER HE GAVE THE WORD,,it is not how much you have but who's hand that you put it in..I have seen enough mess to want to make a differance in someone else's life,,this is what real ministry is and always will be..when keep asking for money it brings the wrong spirit into the sanctuary,,,

So Brother Anthony do you agree that a pastor should have someone put on his shoes?
