God was always there

Searching for something
That was always there in front of me
Something that would guide me on a path
One that would set my spirit free

I followed a path
That was full of potholes
But there stood the one person
Who could renew my fragile soul?

Always thinking that I could do
Everything all by myself
But coming to the realization
I had to give God my soul and put the negativity on the back shelf

He opened his arms to me
Showed me the essence of his beauty
And now I find that true salvation
Once God became my sole inspiration

Many times
The devil will through obstacles within our mind
But it is a test of our faith’s stability
But I find that God is that fence that reinforces me

So I no longer search for what was always there
For God has instilled in me his faith, wisdom, and love, through his care
And my path is free and clear
With God by my side there is nothing for me to fear

For he is my Savoir….
