God's Love....A Powerful Weapon Against Satan

Romans 8:38-39 (NLT) "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Today's Scripture is very powerful! It reveals the kind of love that God has for us. No matter what we do or how much we may misbehave the bottom line is God loves us. It doesn't mean that He's pleased with some of the decisions we make or the way we may act sometimes. How many of us can say we will stop loving our children just because they misbehave or don't do what we expect them to do? I don't have any children of my own but oh how I love to spoil and love on the children that are around me. I have learned so much just by watching them.

We can learn a lot about ourselves by watching children. We see sometimes how they will push us as much as they can to see how much they can get away with. They will say and so things sometimes that just sets our nerves and our emotions on end. They can be stubborn, bull headed, disobedient, and so many other negative traits. But yet we still love them. Do we not? Imagine how much more our God loves us! In our simple minds we cannot comprehend or understand just how deep and passionate the love of God is. How often have we pushed God just to see what we can get away with? How often have we been stubborn and bull headed! We only bring troubles on ourselves when we behave this way. God loves us so much that He will not let us get away with anything for too long.

His love never waivers; even though sometimes He has to step in and chastise and rebuke His children. But don't we all do that with our children if we see them heading down a dangerous path? God chastises those He loves! His love is unconditional, He never puts conditions on His love the way we do. How easy it is for us to love someone who is loveable all the time. But what about those that rub us the wrong way? How about those that reject us? How about those who bully us or try to control and manipulate us in wrong ways? How about those who will tear us down or gossip behind our backs? Not so easy to love huh?

Yet it is for those very ones that Jesus died on the cross for. And I'm including us when I say this because many times, I'm sure, we have been the ones who rub others the wrong way. Talk about an unconditional love! How many of us would be willing to lay down our lives for someone we just plain don't like? Would we be willing? Probably not. But that is the exact place that God wants us to be. If we would walk in that same unconditional love towards everyone we come in contact with imagine the impact we would have on this world? Not to mention that we would really get Satan shaking in his boots. That's the one thing he doesn't want to happen.

Let's face it, the world is getting darker and more evil. But we need to keep our lights shinning as never before. There will be more trials and tribulations coming our way. We will have even more rejections and more people will hate us because of who we stand for. Will we be willing to continue this walk of love? Other nations know what real suffering is when standing up for Jesus, they have been murdered for His namesake. We in America don't know what real suffering is yet. But we may know in the future. Jesus became so humble and laid down His life for each and every single person in this world to show how deep His love and compassion was for us. Are we ready to be humbled in such a way? I pray we are. Sadly it doesn't take much for us to not like or even love certain people. How fickle our flesh is. Help us Lord to humble ourselves and walk in your love and your compassion for all people that we may shine Your love to the world. Amen! Nothing can separate us from the love of God. What does it take to separate us from loving someone? ( Not much most times). When we truly die to the flesh and determine to walk in love we won't be so easily offended. Satan cannot attack something that is dead! Food for thought. God bless you, I love you, but Jesus loves you so much more than I ever could.
