Grace is Not Given to Cope, But To Hope!”

By Teacher: Paul G. Williams

Greeting Kingdom Citizens!

Grace to you believers, and peace be multiplied to you through the revealed knowledge of God!

I really enjoy starting out a faith lesson by pronouncing an empowering blessing upon you. There is no better way to change the course of
one's life from the negative streams of offenses that may be flowing
in. Unfortunately grace has been used as a coping mechanism for
getting through tough times or enduring hardship as a good soldier.
Yes, you must stand and after you've done all to stand, stand
therefore. Yes, you are not to faint in the day of adversity. Yes you
must take courage and not let your hands be weak, but you do not have
to take the enemies buffeting without fighting back. There is a
portion of scripture in the Word that people use a lot as an excuse
to put up with a lot of junk from the devil.

"And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the
messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above
measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might
depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore
will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may
rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in
reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for
Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."
2
Cor. 12:7-10

Please excuse me, but if you take this portion of scripture out of context you can find yourself using this Word to determine that you should
stop fighting the good fight of faith. If you are not careful about
what you are listening to you may even try to make this the “Turn
the Other Cheek” message from The Master Himself. Paul said that
lest he should be exalted above measure through the abundance of
revelations a thorn in the flesh was given to him, a messenger of
satan to buffet him with. Should you have the notion that this is
your condition, let me ask you a question?

What abundance of revelations are you getting that require satan to send a messenger to you to keep you from being exalted above measure? That
said, Paul called God to the side, like one would want to confer with
another or entreat another, three times, and said “Hey God can you
get this guy off my back?”

God said to PaulMy grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in your weakness.”
Even if this was a sickness Paul was suffering as some
men assert, then would not Paul be healed if the power of Christ
rests on him? No, sickness was not the case. Grace is not a weapon of
coping, rather it is an inner man equipping. God was not saying to
Paul to just cope with this issue because He would not have said that
His power is made perfect in weakness. Power perfected is answered
prayer is it not? Grace is accessed by faith so therefore God was
telling Him to use his faith to access His grace to get the job done.

"By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope
of the glory of God." Romans 5:2

God is telling us the same thing is He not? We are to allow the Word of His grace to build us up and to give us our inheritance among all
them that are sanctified. If the Word of His grace is able then Gods
grace is able through faith. God was not telling Paul to cope, God
was telling Paul to use his faith to get the hope that he desired!
Paul says that he stands rejoicing in the expectation of the glory of
God. He is always expecting God to do what He says, and grace makes
him use his faith to get there.

Look at this:

"If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the
mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye
may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.) That the
Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers
of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a
minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by
the effectual working of his power." Eph 3:2-4,6-7

Paul says right here that the grace of God gave him revelation to understand the mystery of the Blessing. The mystery was that the
Gentiles should be fellow heirs of the same body, partaking of the
promise in the blessing by the Word!! Does this sound like grace is a
coping mechanism, or a inner-man equipping? Paul trusted the promises
of God in his life time. Paul expected grace to kick in and make him
stronger in the trenches to do what he does best.....TEACH. Paul
found out he could partake of the promises in the blessing on Jesus
by faith! Paul found out that it was grace that made him a minister
not that grace was just a coping mechanism.

I trust we find out the same thing that Paul did. Grace is powerful and grace is for the inner-man. I trust that this Word of Faith message
has been and is a blessing to you. May the Lord reveal to you the
Blessing of Eden in all you put your hands to.
