HAVE FAITH  IN  GOD

Our Scripture reading is found in the Gospel of Luke 18:  1- 8 and note the question asked by our Lord Jesus Christ – shall I find faith on earth when I come?

Note the question of Jesus for this is important,…”when He comes?” for we need LIVING faith when He comes.

These are the days He is talking about and these are perilous times when many are falling away and losing sight of God due to various circumstances.

In our day we have so many Bible Colleges, big crusades, Conferences, Revival meetings, DVD/CD messages, Christian messages on TVs and so one would think there would be more faith now!

It is not so for the Word of God has been watered down with many translations, etc. etc.

God has given faith to everyone  Rom. 12: 3 and yet some seem to have more faith than others because faith can be developed or lost.

There are various degrees of faith as seen by its works.  James 2: 20-22 says faith without works is dead.

No faith - Mk.4: 40

Little faith – Matt. 8: 26

Great faith Matt. 8: 10

Faith cannot be worked up or manufactured nor purchased.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Rom.10: 17

Faith is the link between God and man and therefore needs to be preserved.

Faith is fed by the Word and preserved by prayer.  Prayer of faith is a powerful weapon for healing the sick and even in spiritual warfare as ours is a faith fight.

Believers are to walk by faith and not by sight.  Some people pray a lot and neglect the Word.  We need a balance and the Word is the substance for strong faith and will not be easily shaken.

 Heb. 11: 35- 40

Faith makes the spirit world real and prayer is the key to success in that world.

Prayer is not mechanical but it touches God and keeps your spirit alive.

This is the reason for quiet times of fellowship with the Lord with His Word and prayer DAILY

In this passage the Lord is teaching about persistent faith that gets the results. She had no faith in the unjust judge who did not fear God, but by her continual visits were for justice and he was the appointed judge!  She won her case because she was persistent and determined to be avenged of her enemy.

When you lose sight of God you begin to waver – then try to hold on to straws from one message or the other.

However, when you know God has promised then your faith hangs on to Him for

HE IS RIGHTEOUS AND HOLY AND JUST AND HE CANNOT LIE NOR FAIL!   Num. 23: 19  (read this)

The test of faith is your ability to stand firm on His Word in spite of circumstances that may contradict.  GOD HAS SPOKEN AND THAT IS ENOUGH FOR FAITH!!

We need to check ourselves from time to time that we have not moved away from God.  Is He still the One you love and the One Whom you are obeying and following?   It is good to ask ourselves why we are doing what we do

The enemy seeks in every way possible to steal our faith or to distract us or divert us or to keep us very busy doing things for HIM instead of waiting to hear from HIM and do the will of God.  Is your faith still in HIM?

DO NOY LOSE YOUR FAITH IN HIM!
