Don’t long for “the good old days.”
This is not wise.

Ecclesiastes 7:10 NLT

The Lord is endeavoring to do a new thing. We cannot embrace our future while longing and craving for the past. Many blessings and opportunities are missed because we are looking for something like what we had yesterday. Try as we may to recapture yesterday; that season is done. It is a dead matter and it is time to move on.

When the Lord shuts a door or shifts our lives so drastically that nothing remotely resembles what we at one time called our lives. It is not because He is trying to deprive us or leave us longing. His desire is to bless us in a way like never before. Some doors had to be shut. Some people had to walk away. Some things had to fall apart. It was the only way the blessing He has in mind could come about.

The future that God has for us will not resemble the past; because it will be all together different. The place the Lord is taking us to will not be like yesterday; it will exceed it. Eyes have not seen, our ears have not heard and the very thought of the awesome destiny and blessing that He, the loving Eternal God, has intended and purposed for us.

Release and let go of yesterday; live today. Yesterday is dead and the season to grieve is past. Our blessing and destiny is ahead of us. What God has in mind is exceedingly more than anything that we could ever imagine or think. Amen!
