Know God Better

The first question most children ask is "why." It doesn't take long for them to notice that things don't just happen. There's a system called cause and effect. When kids ask why, they are trying to figure out the system. Sometimes we don't know why things happen, they just do. For example; it would seem that if you're a good person, only good would come your way. We know that bad things happen to good people. WHY? In that same vein, it would seem that bad things would be the result of acts committed by people intent on doing harm. Yet, sometimes we see them get away with their deeds with no apparent consequences. And, sometimes they even prosper as a result of their actions. WHY?"For examples of patience in suffering, look at the Lord's prophets. We know how happy they are now because they stayed true to Him then, even though they suffered greatly for it. Job is an example of a man who continued to trust the Lord in sorrow; from his experiences we can see how the Lord's plan finally ended in good, for He is full of tenderness and mercy." (James 5:10-11 LB)
Consider Job. Noah. Daniel. (Ezekiel 14:14,20) Joseph. Moses. Those mentioned in the "Hall of Faith" in Hebrews 11. We have many examples where it fits to ask WHY.
Let's look at three words that will help us with the word WHY.
Wait.
Hope.
Yield.
WAIT. 
Our "instant" world has taught us to expect answers and help fast. When that doesn't happen we often begin to ask why. When God finally responded to Job's query, He didn't answer his question. He showed him that it was far better to know God than to know all the answers.
 
HOPE.
It's vital to always remember that God loves us, has good plans for us and He sees a bigger picture than we can from where we sit. Therefore, we hope which means we trust God even if we never find out until we get to heaven why
that happened.
YIELD.
Yielding is wanting whatever God wants out of the situation. It's that casting-all-your-cares-upon-Him place because we
know He cares for us. Painful circumstances are not always punishment. So, we trust Him, knowing that He knows why.
"It is good both to hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." (Lamentations 3:26) 
"It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in man." (Psalm 118:8) 
Let's learn what God was teaching Job. It's better to know God than to know answers to everything. Allow whatever you're going through, the good and the bad, to move you closer to Him always. He is our safe refuge, our high tower of safety.
May we all rise up and advance God's kingdom ignited and united as ONE to go out and give 'em heaven!
