Do you pray for those who hate and dispitefully misuse you? Not only should you pray for them, but inspite of the way that they treat you, do good to them (Luke 6:27-28). Come to realize that it is not the soul that is fighting against you and attempting to bring evil upon you; it is a spirit of evil and spiritual wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Learn to have compassion for the lost soul, and realize that just as you once desired to be free from the evil which so easily beset you, that soul desires the same. They simply need someone to lead them to the one who can set them free, and the one is Jesus Christ of Nazareth. When we allow our light to shine in the midst of a dark situation, even if we DON'T see the results, we have planted a seed in someone's life. One plants, another waters, and GOD gives the increase. It is better to sow a seed that causes one to wonder how you can treat them well when they are against you than to sow a seed of discord.
God says that vengence is His and He shall repay (Romans 12:19). That means if you attempt to seek your own vengence, God has something bad to repay you for. The life of the flesh carries enough heartache without pitting yourself against God as an enemy. Even the soul that sinneths belongs unto the Lord (Hebrews 1:9), and God is faithful to take care of and repay any wrong that is done unto His own. He loved us unto repentance. Jesus loved us unto life by loving us until death on the cross. Then he went to hell and took back the keys to BOTH life and death that if we believe we might have eternal life. Now THAT is love to die for the sinful while they are yet in their sins and iniquities. He said in His word, "If you love me keep my commandments." He told us, "That by this will men know that you belong unto me, that you have love one for another." The word of God then tells us, "Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus." You see, love is longsuffering. Love knows not evil. Love has compassion even when none is given. Love does not return evil for evil. Love hopes for better. Love has faith, and love covers a multitude of sin. Therefore, we must examine our own hearts and see where our love needs to increase, because love casteth out all fear. It cast away the fear of being hurt, mistreated, ridiculed, picked on, ostracized, left out, misused, beaten on, and talked about. This is the love that was in Christ Jesus even unto the bearing of the cross. This is the love that overtook Dr. King even to the fight for the Memphis sanitation workers. This is the love that overshadowed Malcolm. It is the love that embraced Garvey, and Ghandi. It is also the same that would cause a man to maintain a fight for the justice of an undeserving people inspite of any threat of harm to his life. It is the love that changes lives. The sinner man who has not embraced the Lord Jesus Christ does not know this manner of love, but they behold it when they see us as children of God walk in the love by which we have been called unto repentance.
The word of God says, "If your enemy shall thrist, give him to drink. If he hunger, feed him . . .," it is not the reason for which I desire for my brothers and sisters to do good to those who misuse them, but we must remember that the verse continues on to read, "for as you do so you heap coals of fire upon his head" (Romans12:20). Perhaps it is the burning of those coals that will turn a many a lives around. Remember that when we were yet sinners, we were indeed enemy unto both God and Jesus Christ as we crucified the Only Begotten Son of God afresh with our sin. Yet, Christ and the Heavenly Father loved us unto salvation placing a burning fire in our hearts to learn the will of God and to live the way that Christ lived. Therefore, let us all walk as Christ walked becoming TRUE Christians which is to be Christ like. Do you look like your big brother, and the God of all creation who sent him to redeem mankind and show us the way to eternal life?
Be bless. Think good and do good inspite of what is done to you. Love and be longsuffering as Christ was also longsuffering for us and is yet longsuffering when we stumble and fall.
