Mark 2:27 "And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath"

The text of Mark 2:27 has ben tossed around by many here on BPN, with varied man made interpretations without a clue as to what this text really means. Any private interpretation, contrary to the original context, I'm sure we all can agree is utterly worthless.

So that all will see that the following is not just an opinion, we will analyze this verse of Matt. 2:27 from the Greek text using the Strong's Greek lexicon, which is available to all online.

The words of this verse, are from our Messiah Himself, which makes them something to which we should give rapt attention and try to understand from the context in which He spoke. And if you qualify as one for whom the Sabbath was made, you should take heed.

This message below, will focus on for whom Messiah said the Sabbath was made.

Now many here have erroneously said that the Sabbath was made for the Jew. However that statement is contradicting Messiah, as He said

"Sabbath was made for man, "anthropos" is the Greek term."

Many of you may be familiar with the word "anthropology" it from the same root word.

Here is the entymology of the word "anthropos" from the "Online Etymology Dictionary"

Question: Did anyone see the word JEW in the previous definition? No you did not.

Now that it is settled that the word "anthropos" means ***MAN*** and not ***JEW or ISRAELITE***,
lets continue and read the verse, for some of you it may be your first time actually understanding for whom the Sabbath was made.

Now, I will conclude based upon the evidence from Messiah's own mouth, confirmed by the Greek text, that the Sabbath was made for ***MAN, mankind***, which ***INCLUDES GENTILES***.

I repeat, the Sabbath was not exclusively made for the Jew or Israelite.

Many Gentiles have joined Israel, embraced their Jewish Messiah and their covenants as we read in Eph. 2: 12 & 13.

So those of you who have erroneously posted that the Sabbath was made for the Jew or Israelite take heed to the following:

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. (Proverbs 30:5-6)

In Matt. 2:27 Messiah literally says that the Sabbath was made for EVERYBODY.......
