For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11, KJV Do you ever wonder what plans God have for you? Do you ever wonder when those plans will be executed? What expected end is He referring to?

Well, I too have wondered the same things. Will I like the plans? Will I live to see those plans implemented? I expect a lot of things; for example, I expect to live to see another day. Is that what He means when He says, "an expected end"?

Well, not exactly. His ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts our thoughts. As a matter of fact, as far as the East is from the West, that's how far our thoughts are from His. Once we read and understand what the Bible says about us, then we'll know what to expect. When we allow our will to become His will then our thoughts begin to line up with what He has planned for our life.

Lastly, we've got to be willing to expect something else other than sun shiny days. A little pain and sorrow unfortunately is in the plan too. Because we don't expect (want) pain and sorrow, when it strikes, we don't know what hit us and we fail to believe that it might just be God. At the end of all Joseph's trouble, he said to his same brother's who sold him into slavery that God had done this to him, not his brother's. (Genesis 45:5-8) Now, with that said, the thoughts and plans (be it good or bad) all work together for our GOOD to give us THAT expected end.

Be encouraged,
Doc Kennedy
