not another cliche. but from the heart. allow patience to perfect that which concerns you

you know recently as i was teaching at a singles seminar. i began to talk to the single women about allowing god to perfect that which concerns them. so many of them told me that i did not know how they felt. the holy spirit began to give me a liberty to give my testimony. i told them that i had been married before for 10yrs, and i was divorced now for 4 yrs. i have been engaged twice since then. things that i could not see right away in those relationships i began to be able to see with time. i told them that time is not your enemy, its been desinged by god to be your friend. the character of a person can not truly be seen unless its put to the acid test. anyone can quote the word and shout when things are going good, but its the times where things are not going that great is when you have to (by faith) count it all joy. i told them that to the degree that you have grown in your relationship with the holy spirit will be the degree that you can have a real godly relationship with someone else. if you dont fellowship with him, then even if you get married, you will eventually stop fellowshipping the correct way with your spouse. marriage is not the cure all to the problem of being single. you may be single but you are not alone. the holy spirit has been sent to walk with you, help you, & counsel you. if you dont know how to be friends with him then you will never know how to be a true friend in the way that the word of god intended it to be. the word says faithful are the wounds of a friend. how can you expect god to send your spouse when many of you get mad at the holy spirit when he corrects you. often times god will confirm his corrections through people. depending on if you as a believer will allow the chastening of the lord to have its proper place in your life will determine if you will ever see your spouse. chastening from the lord actually gets you ready to recieve from god. when you are in a frendship with someone headed towards marriage, time is your friend. time will allow the room for the character test that will come to prove what is really in a persons heart. so i admonish all today who are believing for marraige,or anything from the word. to allow the word of god, the holy spirit, and the acid test to have its perfecting(maturing) work so that you will be whole and entire wanting nothing
