PREDESTINED TO DAMNATION ...or... A CHANCE FOR SALVATION ?

Matthew 7:1
"Judge not, that ye be not judged"

This morning, I found myself quite disturbed and becoming judgemental and mentally condemning a man I don't know personally to death because of the sins he confessed to law enforcement officials. I received several emails in reference to the story of Danny Platt confessing to murdering his 2-1/2 year old son and burying the toddler in a park. His motive? To avoid paying $4,000.00 in back child support.

This was truly a selfish act, but first and foremost it is sin.
Exodus 20:13; Deutoronomy 5:17; Mattew 5:21; Romans 13:9 "THOU SHALT NOT KILL".

Because I have such a strong love for children, I couldn't help but have a series of questions go through my mind.

1) Why do people continue to misuse, abuse and murder innocent children?

2) When such acts are committed against children, why is there NO remorse?

3) Why is it that more times than NOT, the people committing such outlandish crimes say "God told me to do it"?

I could only come up with one answer to all my questions.

Romans 1:28 - 32
28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a REPROBATE MIND , to do those things which are not convenient;
29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31) Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

What price do they pay? Should they be put to death? Are they able to gain salvation being reprobates?

I would love to hear from you!

Bro Luckett, I read the book of Titus and 2 Timothy Ch 3 (THE PASTOR'S GUIDES...LOL) and 2 Corinthians long before posting this (that's how I even knew what reprobate meant..being honest...word FIRST..THEN the dictionary and some other resources).
Titus 1:15-16

15) Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

16 ) They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

I know what (Predestined) means as well. Some people seem to think my exergisis is off point. Let's see...Predestined = chosen...Damnation....(Theologically speaking) Condemnation to eternal punishment as a consequence OF sin)..Sin can be forgiven.

Reprobates BECOME reprobates due to THEIR "choices". The choice of denying Christ, claiming you know God, but works speak differently etc..is a direct CONSEQUENCE of being DISOBEDIENT. Talking the talk..not walking the walk or not talking or walking the RIGHT way at all.

So..."choose to be damned" or " able to receive salvation"?

I would like to thank everyone who has responded thus far. Your words are encouragement for ME. I live in a city where crimes against children, sadly, is normal and my heart bleeds for them. I would also like to address some people's concerns on why the title is "Predestined to Damnation or A chance for Salvation".
People who commit such horrible acts against children are obviously reprobates. (Definitely not God-like ).
The dictionary defines reprobate as:
rep·ro·bate (rpr-bt)
n.
1. A morally unprincipled person.
2. One who is predestined to damnation
Hence...my title...and question...ARE THEY REALLY DAMNED??

hi, Blessing woman of GOD ! I appreciate your comment.
how people can commit these criminal acts against children? it is monstrous.
Our God is love, mercy,he forgives the killers, sinners;then who am i ,not to forgive.
The spirit of evil that lead no-Christians to commit crimes.
we the Christians, we have the spirit of god, we should pray ,so that they give their lives to God and ask God for forgiveness for their crimes.
because God calls us repentance with all our heart !
God said in his speech to pray for the weak in faith.

Be blessed!

Blessings my sister, I can appreciate your comments, murder is never an acceptable behavior. However the God we all serve is a God of grace and mercy, it hurts us when anyone is murdered, but even more when it is one so small, innocent and ever so tender. I pray that whomever commits ungodly acts of any kind, are given grace to come to their senses and approach the throne of grace and ask God for forgiveness, for he is such a forgiving God. We must constantly remind ourselves that the adversary who comes to "steal, kill and destroy" is doing all he can in this last day because he realizes his time is short, so it is now our resposibility as well as the entire body of Christ to work even harder to win as many souls as possible for the Master's service. Be Blessed,

This is what i think God is coming soon and the devil is waging an all out assault against anyone he can.Sister you said it in your reply in the book of Romans and of course we have second Timothy ch 3vs1 saying" mark this there will be terrible times in the last days" followed by all the demon personalities we are fully aware of. people like that and others are far from god because they don't want the truth there are three things the devil is determined to do steal, kill, and destroy and that's what we are seeing today and for the comment "God made me do it" that's just another way the devil can use to discredit god for those who are still looking for reason why they should not serve him. Yes it is sad i have not seem so much killing about children like i have since i moved here to Tx every time i see something like that i pray for the people because they are so lost yes my heart go's out to them but my sister the position we must take is making sure we tell people about jesus get as many as we can for god this is a war a spiritual battle for the souls of men we must have compassion jesus said" forgive them for they know not what they do." What ever is your greatest pain is where god has called you to pray. Your prayers and the prayers of others will make a difference we must storm the gates of hell and tell the devil he can not have our families and the lost souls out there. Yeah its true lots believe that just cause grandma is saved or mama saved they are covered but we can't ride anyone coat tale and get in every man has to give account for himself good or bad that's what the bibles says so my sister you were on it in all that you said its the people who are confused that really need to get . God bless.

LOL!! That's the truth (like that "when Pookie is in jail AGAIN). I speak from experience when I say that. God doesn't make "deals" with us. I've been there and TRIED to make a deal with him. However, I DID make him a promise...and kept it. What makes people think when they say "put in a good word for me" that God will forgive them because WE asked..instead of them? Some people even think they can purchase salvation. "Put this in the offering plate for me"...why not go and give it for yourself? Too many Couch Christians and Bed Side Baptists!!

LOL! Catholic Priests will be another Blog in it's own class. LOL. No, there is no purgatory. I probably should have used the term "minister" in reference to the inmates. They do allow different denominations of Ministers into the prisons. I don't think there is enough of us going though, Daily, I mentor to youth to attempt to prevent them making it TO prison in the first place. I mean, come on, we have EIGHT YEAR OLD KIDS killing their own parents.

LOL! That comment about people thinking their saved cuz Big Mama-n-dem were saved is so TRUE! Big Mama is accountable for Big Mama's sins..not everybody's. A lot of folks also believe they can make it on OTHER people's prayers...alone..never taking the time to Pray and seek God for themselves. Everytime you see them.."Pray for me"..EVERY time? I find myself asking people...Did YOU pray? I can pray for people until I'm blue in the face. Do they have faith in the prayer I'm praying? If not, why? If so, why not pray themselves? touching and agreeing is one thing, but to have a "prayer life" (for the lack of a better phrase) through someone else's relationship with God is crazy. I'm talking people who don't pray unless they are "trying" to bargain with God. You know..."Lord, if you get me outta this one, I PROMISE I will be in church everytime the doors open"...kinda prayers.

See...you said a WHOLE LOT. I know we can pray all we want but each person has to repent for themselves. Without certain knowledge, I can only wonder if the "priests" working on death row even attempt to get the inmates to repent. True GOD does the judging. That's what prompted me to post this blog. I was being VERY judgemental this morning and had to leave my desk and go repent myself. I stepped into SELF for a minute..that fleshly self. My heart goes out to children and when they are harmed or put in harms way, it not only hurts, but it angers me (a little struggle there). It may have a little to do with being "victimized" during my own childhood. I know I can't save all the children, but I will do MY part..one child at a time.

Thanks for the response Rev. Luckett. I agree completely. There were many murderers in the Bible, even David. Psalms 51 is his repentance for this murder, I see this is just one MORE "red flag" telling us that we ARE in a spiritual warfare. The things that cross our televisions on the news daily are NOT of God. I could go on and on about that (maybe in another blog), but my point is "WE" sit back idle and nonchalant. We MAY shake our heads and say "that's a shame" and that's about as far as it goes.
People that commit such acts NEED to know God. Are we to "JUST" condemn them to death (Death Sentencing from their State of residence) or are we to pray for their salvation?
