Preventing Christian Burn-out

Throughout my Christian life I have been blessed to work with a number of dedicated pastors/ministers. Their dedication to the Great Commission is proven by their constant ministry to the people of God. Unfortunately, too many times, this comes at the sacrifice of their families, thus the reason why, though divorce ends 1 out of 2 marriages, the numbers are even higher among those of the "cloth". We not only suffer from the breakdown of our families, but also our health, both physical and psychological. We take Phil. 4:13 (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me) to mean "we must do EVERY thing"! We need to understand, whatever things the Lord has placed in our spirit to do at that time-those are the things we can do through Christ. And yes, He will strengthen us to do that work.
The Lord's been ministering the following lately and I want to share this: John 7:53 (please read the entire chapter for context) says that they went to their homes. John 8:1, however, states that Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. We need to get away and rest; we need to clear our heads so we can hear God's voice. Look how many times Jesus stole away to the Mount of Olives (see Luke 21:37) If the Lord Himself needed to separate from those He chose, those he ministered to, even from his family and friends, how much more do we? We loose our effectiveness and leave an opening for Satan when we don't rest. And since the enemy is more aware of our weaknesses than we are ourselves, he knows exactly how to trip us. We need to find our own "Mount of Olives" and get there on a regular basis! Any thoughts?
