My goodness! You all "got it goin' on" over here! When it comes to "a hundredfold," I fold! I draw the line! Word of Faith televangelists the late Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Fred Price, and many other prominent "prosperity preachers," have popularized the terms "sowing a seed," and "seed faith offering" by telling followers that sowing money into their ministries will produce a "hundredfold return." As a result many trusting Christians, mostly poor, have sacrificially given to these and other mega ministries, some have even mortgaged their homes, in hopes of cashing in on the "hundredfold" blessing. I fold at a hundredfold. I draw the line. One hundred dollars for every one dollar is not what is promised in the Word of God.

Faulty prosperity teachings are tricking Christians into making foolish decisions with their money. Many people are speaking to their wallets when they should be speaking to God! Predatory lenders love to see a good prosperity preacher coming. Predatory lenders have put people in homes they can't afford as they "claim" the houses they just bought. Now, that's a crying shame! This foreclosure crisis has disproportionally affected African Americans and they poor. They're the ones with the subprime loans!

The fortune tellers, soothsayers, and prosperity preachers don't have a clue about our personal futures. Otherwise, they would have predicted this housing foreclosure crisis that the country is in, Hurricane Katrina, and 9/11. God only knows what tomorrow will bring. It's certainly won't be a hundredfold return on your money.

Rev Luckett she is the first lady Asst Pastor finane dept.and on friday night from what I seen one time they get kids off the streets by offering movies and free food and prayer,,wich he asked me to help out,,get this,,the kids run through the bilding and vandalize the place i step in and make them stop he tells me to leave them alone and dont say anything to them ,,So Ijust backed up Iam no member,,I am just a visitor,,it got so out of hand that his WIFE turned off the movie asked me to give a prayer of dismissal and the Pastor just looked at her,,I did say something to him and he took it the wrong way but what I said was that was your job ,,not your wifes!!

She has to becuase from what I see he is scared of her,,and it is a mess,,they help who they want to help and the rest they dont,,cant preach if your not a tither,,and so on BUT the brother can preach ,,he asked me to preach at his church at the end of the month and I am really skeptical

Just when you think that you heard it all NOW pink slips!! I mean is there a eviction that comes with it or is anyone getting FIRED,,LOL,,I was in church and the beginning of the year ,,the Pastors wife was giving out tithe statements for the year that the people had tithed and it said ,,WE ARE NOT LENDING MONEY OUT TO HELP PEOPLE BUT PAY YOUR TITHES!!!

Hi Brothers and sisters,

I see I'm late on this topic, but none of you will find one scripture where tithing became money. However, there is a scripture where God said you can buy back your tithe. So my question is " How do you buy back money?"

Yes. Rev. Hancock I do know of these manipulative practices. I have my own practice. I tithe and I sow in ministries that evangelism as it primary ministry both internationally and locally. I trust God to bring a harvest from my seed. The rest He will set in order when he comes -- either before Christ by his Spirit or after Jesus comes - in Judgement.
