Senior Pastors are they underpaid and burnt out naturally and spiritually?

Most Senior Pastors work overtime daily .. Even those that have a strong leadership team ,we find spend long hours and days overseeing the Leaders, staff , Ministry , praying , fasting. studying and preparing for services ,Conferences and work tireless to keep the Ministry/Church moving acording to the Word of God and the vision the Lord has given them. We find many Pastors are loosing there health, family and many times there lives because of burn out and not knowing how to balance work , Ministry and there personal lives. Many dont have health insurance, life insurance, retirement packages, vacation time or any benefits at all. We try not to follow this pattern in Ministry. Lets hear comments please on this topic. Your shared thoughts and honesty on this subject may help others, thanks.

I thank you for your words. and i am at a point in my life where i am praying for the mentor-ship i need because right now i feel so alone. i am seeking God everywhere I turn. the feeling i have is everything above you have mentioned. it's a feeling of "work" in the church and "work" outside of the church. i am just waiting on direction from God. i am taking it one step at a time. i have such a feeling of excitement. i just ask God for stregnth, wisdom, knowledge and to take the spirit of fear away. and i know God will place in my path whatever i need.

thank you so much.

Stay encourage in the Lord, OUR SAVIOUR.

First Lady, I am a female Pastor , an Accountant an Business Owners. Many Pastors and people think they have to give up all the Businesses and etc to be in Ministry. Thats far from the truth. I pastor a Church , our Church has Schools, daycares and 23 Community outreaches and I still operate my private business ventures.I have learnt to hire good staff and delegate in my businesses and Ministry and Church. I have seen so many Pastors give up all for Ministry and the results have been such ,they lost there health and Ministry and many cases there families. We need to have a lot of wisdom in Ministry. We can continue to operate our Businesses and Pastor and be in Ministry. Ask God to give you some good female mentors and make sure they are successful business owners and Pastors. We have to watch the fruit of the wisdom we seek and make sure people are talking from true experience. We have a lot of people giving advice but we need to look at the fruit of the counsel we seek. The BIble states we know them by there fruit.May the Lord impart his wisdom to you as you pray and read the Word of God.

I have to tell you, for the past few days i have been feeling as if i will be walking away from a wonderful career i have had for almost 10 years. i have my own insurance agency and it has been my comfort zone. all the benefits, 401k, vacations, my own hours and so on. my husband, very recently, was licensed and is begining his journey into his God ordained ministry. we are both working full time jobs and he is in school. this morning i told him about this feeling i am having of being let go from my job, and he brushed it off fast!!! his response was kind of like don't even think about it. but i have to think about it. if i am having this feeling should i start preparing for something? and what will it mean? i have no idea what happens when you are called full time into ministry. would God pull me from my job if i am not the one with the calling???i look forward to seeing others comments because right now, i feel as if i am going to be directed to take that major step of faith...
