Blessings and Honor to all my Friends,

It is a privilege t= be able to share once again in the Riches of God's Word. We shall continue in our study of Acts. I noticed some interesting points in Acts 2:5-10 that made me wonder, usually when I come across something that makes me wonder it tends to make me pray for understanding. So I asked God to show me more about "Speaking In Tongues"

God took me all the way back to Gen.11:7,9 This is where the people of Babel thought to build a tower to reach the heavens and the Bible says that God confounded their speech, if you look at verse one of this same chapter it says that they spoke one language. Now we see that God confounded their language or confused their language so that they would not be able to speak to one another.

Often we hear of "Speaking in Tongues" in many of our churches and it's said that this is a sure sign of the Holy Spirit, but I submit to you that we have heard partly right. The Holy Spirit does allow us to "Speak in Tongues" but let=us look closely at what Acts 2 says, verse 6 says "the multitude came together and were confounded (confused as in Gen. 11) because every man heard them speak in his own language."  With that said I submit that "Speaking in Tongues" is the means by which the Holy Spirit affords people of different regions of the World to receive the Gospel of Christ. Look at Mark 16:17 which states "And these signs shall follow them that believe In my Name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues" Jesus is saying that men will speak in languages other than their native tongue for the furtherance of the Gospel. This conclusion is reached as a result of verse 15 of the same chapter which states (Jesus Talking in verse 15-18) "Go Ye into all the World, and preach to every creature."

Notice that Jesus is saying all this right before He goes up to Heaven. There are several other scripture which coincide with what was just stated, however we look at I Corinthians 14, There the people at the church in Corinth were asking Paul for clarification on speaking in tongues. Paul simply says speaking in tongues is for either the edification of all present or not at all. Paul is saying that what is said must be understood to be any good for the Body of Christ, The Body of Christ is the only purpose for speaking in tongues. Also let me raise this question as well, many of our churches teach that receiving the gifts of the Spirit are paramount in Spiritual Growth, if this is so why then do they purport that the last mentioned gift is so important. I submit that is not in our time but is worthy to learn of. I would also submit that it's more important to exhibit the "Fruit of the Spirit" which is Love. We'll talk about that another time. There is much more to this topic however I am stressed for time and I'll continue later. Thanks for your time and I trust God will Bless you in your Learning.
