TITLE: - Taking Your VICTORY!!

SUNDAY:- 24.10.2010

Main passage: 1 samuel-17:41-51

AN OVERVIEW:-

In the bible we read the great victory that David achieved over Goliath. Everyone knows about that story. Both Christians and non Christians
know it very well. We (Believers) mostly forget the essence of that great
victory and we importantly know it as stories but fail to apply the truth in
that and we struggle in getting the victory that is ours. Let’s see what truth
the incident tells us.

When goliath came there to challenge the whole nation of Israel no body went forward to face the goliath! Not even the king Saul in many comic
books I have seen Saul as a man who is willing to go but people make him stay
away from goliath because he is their king. The bible tells all except one man
failed to get the courage to face goliath. And that man is a man who is
inexperienced in war –SHEPHERD David.

In our lives too we face challenges...if you say “well, I don’t face
challenges” then you mustn’t be alive...Every living thing faces challenges
every living thing faces life and death, joy and sorrow and so on...So David is
a role model for us to look into what he did to get that magnificent victory
over the strongest opposition he has ever faced till then...As our lives are
full of challenges we need that VICTORY to overcome the challenge

1. Progressing towards VICTORY:-

1. A: SAUL OR DAVID?? WHATS YOUR CHOICE??

Here we see that Saul is the king over Israel at that time...Look at David he too is anointed but he is the king to come...Now let’s examine our
self. Whether we are Saul or David?? Saul stands for the old man and David
stands for the new man... The bible states that “if a man is in CHRIST he is a
NEW creature; all old things are passed away. Everything is NEW” so everyone
who has believed in JESUS and accepted Him are new creatures and all old things
are passed away and everything has become NEW!!We need to believe that first.

So we’ve got to believe first of all that we are new creatures .we naturally face situations in ‘the Saul way’ or the natural way
because we don’t have the faith that we are already crucified with CHRIST and
we are a new creature in Him am talking about those who are in the church and
not about those who are outside. If we don’t believe that GOD is handling the
situation we have this VICTORY concept complicated!!

1. B. How to bring out the David in us??

Bible says “Abraham believed and it was credited to him as righteousness” if we don’t believe as
CRUCIFIED WITH HIM we are not going to let the NEW MAN live from within us. We
are the block for the new man (in this case, David) to be expressed through our
unbelief. Importantly, we need a new revelation (thru the HOLYSPIRIT) of we
crucified along with Christ ALREADY. And you can’t grow in the revelation knowledge
without a relationship with the lord JESUS Paul had this revelation
that’s why he wrote I am crucified with Christ and that’s the revelation and
not his own literal experience and he is not a thief moreover to be crucified
alongside Jesus!! And Paul stresses on the importance of the NEW MAN than anyone
else. Paul says the “NEW MAN IS being renewed in the image of its creator which
is CHRIST” so whenever the NEW MAN in us is expressed, there is JESUS
EXPRESSING himself..That’s why JESUS said “you can’t do anything without me” we
abide in JESUS through faith. Consider the following verse;

ROMANS 12:2

AND BE NOT CONFORMED TO THE WORLD [what I call the natural way of facing a problem,how every one does,in this case like Saul]: BUT BE YE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND [THRU which you express your NEWMAN-JESUS IN YOU, I say GOD speaking-doing things for you from within you] THAT YOU MAY PROVE WHAT THAT IS GOOD,AND ACCEPTABLE,AND PERFECT WILL OF GOD [the will of GOD in our lives is to live in VICTORY over any thing and everything]

1 c.Jesus gave his life on the cross to live his life in us!!

we fail to face situations like David because we don’t have the revelation about who we are really and we have to know that we are not Saul
though we face situations in the manner of Saul we more than David in the sight
of GOD through JESUS. Our calling is to be kings and priests but we live as
slaves to fear doubt failures. We live like Saul and we face situations in fear
and our past bothers us much because we face it like Saul(in the old self or
old man) and not like David(the renewed man in the mind)

So instead of facing things with faith (the David way or by the influence of our renewed mind through the HOLY SPIRIT)we face it like Saul in fear..Why? Because our mind is not renewed in the knowledge of the one who has created us...So automatically we fail to face situations with faith

So the more we believe the job gets easier we’ve been made

righteous through faith and not by works...We need to realize that..There is
just one way and one key to unlock all the doors that’s this – having the
right faith!!

By faith you operate in the new man(David)
and by unbelief you operate in the old man(Saul)color:black"">

For e.g., David doesn’t need to do anything to lose but he needs to believe that the WAR BELONGS TO THE LORD to gain victory...Losing doesn’t
demand anything but winning demands faith as far as Christian life is
concerned!!

You are born to win you are not like your non Christian neighbor he may lose but we are destined to win we are destined to live in good health
and we are destined to lend and not borrow..That’s GOD’s pleasing and perfect
will and you can’t afford to change that with your logical mind.. GOD want us
to be freed from Sin, Debt, and Sickness and so on and why should we want to
change the truth with our current experience or somebody’s experience??(That’s
because we haven’t been facing it in David’s way yet)

2. TAKING YOUR VICTORY… STEP: 1

For us the bible says JESUS lives in us and we have the GREATEST POWER that has created the things which we can or can’t see in this
world and universe. So we are WAY BETTER THAN DAVID WHEN HE FACED GOLIATH...

NOW HOW DID DAVID ACHIEVE HIS VICTORY THAT DAY?? SAUL WANTED A WAR TO BE WON BUT DAVID WANTED A VICTORY TO BE TAKEN!

THAT’S WHERE WE FAIL WE WANT TO DO THINGS OURSELVES (waging a war) WE WANT TO WIN WITH OUR MIGHT JUST AS SAUL DID THAT DAY...SAUL EQUIPED DAVID
WITH WEAPONS AND ARMY OBJECTS OF WAR WHICH DAVID REJECTED...

WE PUT IN OUR OWN EFFORT AND STRENGTH TO WIN OVER MANY CHALLENGES IN OUR LIFE; especially spiritual challenges...That’s good I agree...but work
without faith will not qualify us to tap into the power and ability of GOD. We
should not nullify the benefits of the cross with our works that lacks faith.
Even prayer without faith is not favored in the bible. Faith brings out the
power of god in action. What we do doesn’t bring us the victory but with what
belief we work? That’s the one that brings us the victory..

The bible says “For thou shall eat the labor of thine hands” the victory has been given already...We do what we can with the background of victory...NOT with the background of our ability or history which is by faith

IF YOU WANT A WAR TO BE WON, YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO TAKE YOUR VICTORY

IF YOU WANT A VICTORY TO BE CLAIMED BY YOUR FAITH, THERE YOU ARE!! YOU’VE WON THE BATTLE YOU HAVE WON THE WAR!! BECAUSE JESUS ON THE CROSS
GAVE A PERFECT FINISH TO OUR VICTORY!!WE LIVE IN THIS NEW TESTAMENT DAYS AND IT’S
BY FAITH WE HAVE THE VICTORY

VICTORY OVER THE WORLD, VICTORY OVER SICKNESS

VICTORY OVER POVERTY, VICTORY OVER STRESS, EVERYTHING!!

THE BIBLE SAYS “THE HORSE IS PREPARED FOR THE BATTLE BUT THE VICTORY COMES FROM THE LORD”

“IT’S YOUR FAITH THAT OVERCOMES THE WORLD”

YOU ARE FREE BY THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS ON THE CROSS! HE BECAME OUR DEFEAT ON THE CROSS TO BE THE VICTORY IN US-First spiritually and
then materially but of the same importance to both.

YOU AND I HAVE THE VICTORY...IF WE ARE IGNORANT OF THIS FACT AND IF OUR MINDS ARE IN THE DARK AND IF OUR MINDS ARE NOT RENEWED day by day WE WILL NOT
KNOW THE TRUTH. THE TRUTH IS THAT WE HAVE THE VICTORY WE HAVE CONTROL OVER
EVERYTHING AND AUTHORITY OVER EVERY CREEPING THINS AND FLYING THINGS ANYWHERE
IN THIS EARTH!!

STEP 2- ACTING ON YOUR FAITH:-

So we need to speak the truth and not the fact.The fact is what we see; the truth is what we have! The truth is,
we have the victory...Truth is that we have freedom in JESUS. And we are in
JESUS and HE is in us BY FAITH...

Listen... THERE ARE TWO BATTLES. ONE IS THE BATTLE FOR VICTORY AND THE ANOTHER ONE IS THE BATTLE FOR FAITH...

THE BATTLE FOR VICTORY IS OVER. AND, IT’S DONE BY THE LORD JESUS ON THE CROSS. WHEN HE SAID ’IT IS FINISHED ‘THE BATTLE WAS OVER...THE
VICTORY WAS ACHIEVED NOT BY US BUT BY THE LORD HIMSELF... BUT ONLY AND ONLY AND
ONLY THRU FAITH, WE CLAIM THE VICTORY AS OURS...THE VICTORY IS ALREADY GIVEN
FOR ALL WHO BELIEVE IN THE LORD BUT I CAN’T TAKE IT UNLESS I HAVE FAITH...

FAITH IS THE CURRENCY OF THE NEW MAN AND FEAR IS THE CURRENCY OF THE OLD MAN

SO WHAT DOES THE BATTLE FOR VICTORY MEAN? IT IS A BATTLE WHICH NEEDS OUR PERFORMANCE….IT NEEDS OUR CAPABILITIES, IT NEEDS OUR EFFORT AND
IT TAKES EVERYTHING WE HAVE... BUT I ASK YOU, DO WE HAVE PERFORMANCE? DO WE
HAVE THE CAPABILITIES TO FACE A CHALLENGE BY OURSELF? NO! THE ANSWER IS NO!
TAKE FOR EG.; ARE WE HOLY ENOUGH BY NATURE TO WIN OVER SIN? NO! THE BIBLE SAYS
EVERY ONE HAS SINNED AND FALLEN SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD!!

SO JESUS CAME IN OUR PLACE AND HE DIED ON THE CROSS AND TOOK THE VICTORY FOR US AS ‘THE SON
OF MAN’ AND HE IS OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS!!

SO THE BATTLE TO GAIN THE VICTORY IS OVER BY JESUS, BUT THE BATTLE TO MAKE THE VICTORY OURS NEEDS OUR FAITH TO CLAIM THE VICTORY AS ‘MINE’.

SO THE ONLY BATTLE WE HAVE IS TO KEEP THE FAITH...TO TAKE THE VICTORY AS OURS!! NOT THE BATTLE WITH OUR STRENGTH AND MIGHT TO GAIN THE
VICTORY...THATS WHAT PAUL SAYS “I HAVE RUN THE RACE AND KEPT THE FAITH”...”FIGHT
THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH” SATAN TRIES TO DISMANTLE OUR FAITH THROUGH
FEAR(GOLIATH)

WE NEED NOT TRY OUR BEST IN OUR OWN STRENGTH TO WIN OVER THE SCHEMES OF THE DEVIL .THE BATTLE IS WON!! WE CANT HANDLE IT BY OURSELF SO JESUS
HANDLED IT ALL ON THE CROSS!! WE CAN’T HANDLE THIS BURDEN OF WORRY SO HE
CARRIED IT ON HIMSELF!!WHY SHOULD YOU AND I CARRY WHAT HE HAS ALREADY CARRIED
AND WON OVER??

I BELIEVE DAVID MAY NOT BE WELL EQUIPED FOR A WAR BUT HE WAS EQUIPED WELL TO TAKE THE VICTORY.HE WAS OVERFLOWING WITH FAITH-THE CURRENCY FOR
THE ‘WIN’ EXCHANGE.GOLIATH SAYS”AM I A DOG THAT YOUCOME WITH STICKS AND STONE “...I
TELL YOU CANT KILL EVEN A DOG WITH STONES AND STICKS!!SO DAVID WAS EQUIPED
INTERNALLY AND NOT EXTERNALLY...BUT WE TRY THE OPPOSITE ALWAYS NATURALLY LIKE SAUL
DID!

WE ARE EQUIPPED POWERFULLY INTERNALLY. SO LET THE HOLY SPIRIT CONTROL YOU AND THE WORD OF FAITH START COMIN OUTA YOUR MOUTH
AUTOMATICALLY LIKE DAVID...DAVID WASN’T TAUGHT TO SAY THE RIGHT WORDS TO
GOLIATH BY ANY MAN!! GOD HIMSELF SPOKE THRU HIM!!WHAT WOULD HAPPEN WHEN GOD
SPEAKS??THE ASNWER IS CREATION!! SEE GENESIS CHAPTER 1!!SO MIRACLES ARE IN THE
WAY YOU EXECUTE YOUR FAITH; WHICH IS THRU RIGHT WORDS OF FAITH!!

JUST BE IN THE RIGHT FAITH TO BE IN VICTORY...ITS ACHIEVED ALREADY...SOW YOUR FAITH AND REAP YOUR VICTORY...IT’S EARNED ALREADY!!SHOW YOUR FAITH IN
WORDS! SPEAK THE WORD OF FAITH THAT COMES OUTA YOUR FAITH IN JESUS TO TAKE YOUR
VICTORY...

THERE IS NO WAY TO ALTER THE VICTORY...ITS YOURS BY FAITH.JUST SURRENDER TO GOD NOW AND LET THE HOLYSPIRIT IN YOU LIVE THE LIFE OF
JESUS IN YOU...LET HIM BE GREATER AND LET US BECOME SMALLER.

ASK THE HOLYSPIRIT TO CONTROL YOU AND THAT’S THE WAY FOR JESUS TO LIVE THROUGH
YOU, SPEAK THROUGH YOU, THE WORDS OF VICTORY...WHICH RESULTS IN CREATION OF NEW
THINGS

ONE WHO HAS THE SON HAS LIFE (VICTORY)!!AMEN
