The Blessing in the Darkness
"I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden wealth of secret places, So that you may know that it is I, The LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name." Isaiah 45:3
Through it all I have learned to depend on Jesus, just Him. I uttered a prayer to God early in my youth that I still pray today. I want to be Your friend like Moses, Have Your heart like David, And have Your Spirit like Paul. In other words, I want to be God’s Girl! I want to be the one He can call on when He needs something done. I want to be so close to God that I breathe prayer out and inhale His response. I want to be slow to speak, even slower to anger, and quick to listen to both God and those He has placed around me. I want to seek after the heart of God not the hand ; the Provider and not the Provision. I want to do the will of the Father and not my own.
When I walked away from everything I thought was important to follow Christ, I found Him to be a friend to the friendless. I live to honor His faithfulness with my own. Friends will forsake us and family can disappoint, but God is always there. Do you have a longing to be more committed to God than you have been? Do you feel Him tugging on your heart drawing you closer to fire? Don’t lose heart and don’t run away. God’s fire only purifies. You may discover a part of yourself you never knew was there...
