The Fishing trip:
My daughter Ariel, Sam and I went fishing and this is what I learned about faith. According to Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Story: Ariel, Sam and I went to the tackle shop and picked up a cane pole for Ariel to fish with for her first time fishing with us. We took the cane pole and threaded it with line and a cork. I told her when the cork goes down under the water to pull back lightly and you will have a fish. So I showed her how to do it several times then I allowed her to do it on her own. While I graciously placed a worm on the hook she then turned to place the hook into the water. Less than 30 seconds and the cork went under the water. She pulled back only to discover that she has hooked a fish. She was not expecting a fish, nor was she expecting the fish to come out the water towards her. So she ran holding the pole scream at me to stop the fish from coming in her direction. That's how we are sometimes when we pray. We pray that God will do the impossible but when it comes we run expected for someone else to save us from what we prayer for. We had no expectation that he (God) rewards those who diligently seek him. So the next time you pray for something remember that God will reward you if you seek him diligently. If he rewards we need not run but stand and take it off the hook.
